Hello all, hugs and spoons to all that need them. Just been plodding along here, some days feeling quite bright and others like a dying duck, just fighting off the bugs I think, all good really as before I was diagnosed with the rare immunodeficiency and then started the treatment I seemed to be forever feeling poorly.

I had a great consultation with the endocrinologist last week, need a few tests doing, but he offered to arrange them in my neck of the woods, even tho' it would be better for him to have everything done in house.

OH has plotted, planned and booked our caravan sites for 3.1/2 weeks holiday in the Lake District and Scotland so something to look forward to, need to get some food and treat money saved, stores and freezer to be utilised well in the next few weeks hopefully.

    We have Canine company. :T
Sasha the Golden Labrador is here for a 2-night stay. We got soaked on her walk today; luckily she was wearing her pink anorak-type doggy coat so she stayed mainly dry apart from her legs and feet, which were muddy.
I had to was her coat and towel though, so much mud there was!:D

Mr LW has to do a 2-week sleep diary in preparation for his sleep study appointment on 29th January; we have to log when he sleeps, when he takes any medication, exercises, drinks alcohol, or has either coffee, tea or cola (not that we have cola in the house - vile stuff!). Guess who is having to actually fill out the diary?

  • I did quite a lot of walking at the weekend as I went out both days. I did over an hour walking each day and then I walked 2 miles on Monday too. I felt very achy yesterday. I have my period too and have been getting pains in my thighs. I think I will do some gentle stretching on my yoga mat today, maybe before I have a hot bath at night.

My GP was saying about trying swimming as it is easier on the joints with fibromyalgia, but I thought the water might be too cold?

I can't remember if I said this, but as well as stopping taking Lyrica I stopped going to EMDR as well. I might go back to it at some point in the future.

I think with the money I'm saving I might try some sports /normal massage instead to see if that helps at all. I think I will try it in a couple of months.

It seems a while since we've heard from our OS friends with health challenges; I hope you're all doing lots of fun things, and that's why you're not online?

I'm just crawling out from a rough weekend, and shall be pacing myself this week as I have a beautiful Yorkshire Terrier coming to stay on Saturday. Just for the night - his folks are having double-glazing installed; but he's a sweet little chap, so looking forward to him.

We have snowdrops out in the back garden - spring must be on it's way! :T

    Hi everyone!

I’ve had a bit time out, been changing meds and it’s knocked me :( totally threw everything!

I’m back on form now (nearly) it’s half term and the kids are off again. My house is all disorganised and my meal prep and shopping had gone to pot!
Luckily the freezer has held some HM goodies to tide us over. Kids had lasagna and we are having beef casserole.
Must replenish the frozen stores and get back to shopping and planning again. I hate how being Ill throws everything to pot!

Hope everyone else is ok and managing ok

    Hugs x

    Hello everyone :hello:,
I'm still tootling along wishing for Spring. I've had a rubbish few weeks with a combination of a Meniere's flare up and shingles. I'm waiting for blood results to see if my system can tolerate a further med tweak. Needless to say not being doing a huge amount apart from rest and rehab exercises.
Hope everyone else is coping okay with the winter months. x

Sounds like the winter months are taking their toll on a lot of us!
Still, spring is (hopefully) on its way, and we can all start feeling a bit better (please? any deity within earshot - we'd appreciate it).

Bonniebabe I love the new screen name. How is the Pup? And her older pal? I have a Buddy coming to stay with me at the end of March, along with his pal Indi; they are Cavapoos. :o

I did a silly thing; tried a bit of stepping on the WiiFit; promptly fell over. I am now sporting a huge bruise on my thigh where I landed against the arm of the sofa. Mr LW is so lucky that he refrained from laughing.....

Can anybody tell me what all these numbers are which appear in some posts after an exclamation mark. or occasionally elsewhere? I've noticed them on several posts in different threads and have no idea why they appear or what they're supposed to represent?

Hello everyone, another one here who has been battling the bugs etc through the winter, even my OH who is normally a healthy and fit bod has copped for 2 nasty bouts with the wayward viruses.

Rheum and immunology consultants have both said carry on as is and will review in a few months and rather lovely endo professor is arranging a few tests in my local area to see what is going on with Parathyroid, IBS continues to be a complete nuisance, but hopefully will work out a diet more agreeable to my innards as time goes on:D

candygirl, great to see that you are "yourself" again. Lamewolf don't envy you those bruises, caronc, shingles on top of your existing problem must have been really grim, with a compromised immune system I dread getting it, but my immuno doc tells me I cannot be vacinated against it as it is a live virus. tink04 I do hope that you are adjusting to the new meds now. polly I hope that you and DD have seen off the effects of those awful viruses now, I read your post on another thread about recent appointment and diagnosis, so awful what your DD has had to contend with.

Hugs and spoons to all that would like some.
