  • I had to go to the GP this morning to get antibiotics to hopefully get rid of this bluddy illness. I have to take three tablets a day for two weeks so it will hopefully will kill off any infections.

That reminds me I should order some probiotics to take so all my good bacteria isn't killed off too! I might look on Amazon to get that and order the book Polly mentioned too.:)

Oh yes, Candygirl mentioning the B12 reminded me I meant to ask about a blood test for vitamin D etc... I will ask next time.

You're a braver woman than I; I could no more self-inject than fly to the moon. I only have to see a needle to come over all wobbly.
When we've had diabetic dogs staying, Mr LW has done their insulin injections, because there's no way I could have done then. _pale_

I am another one who injects B12, only into my belly fat though cannot go into the muscle. I used to be quite needle phobic, in my twenties I managed to Psyche myself up to donate blood, couldn't look though and still hated injections, 18 years ago became rather poorly and diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and gradually became used to having the jabs. Fast forward to 2 years ago, not well again and decided to self inject to make sure I was getting optimum treatment, then discovered I had a rare immunity problem and elected to do my own weekly infusions at home rather than spend a day each month at hospital 60 miles away, it was a bit :eek: at first as needles are bigger and it takes almost an hour to do, don't exactly like doing it but needs must:D

I think I'd faint at the needle, you are both brave to do it.

Are you not scared you'll get an air bubble in the syringe?

    Evening all!

Had an easy day today and just pottered around the house and got some bits sorted, feel like I’m getting cold again ... I hope not as I’ve just got over the lurgy from before!

Christmas shopping is going well and I’m doing good on budget so far, still haven’t even looked at the food side - think I’ll leave that till December! I love the ninja turtle bauble ideas too think DS will love that! We still have letters to Santa to write and I’ll find some arts and craft stuff in the £££ shop I’m sure. Some one mentioned they have 2018 annual's on at the moment so it’s worth a look - will get some big foil trays while I’m there too.

The house is still a mess and the washing is piling up again but there is not much more I can do there - I did manage to sort my freezers out tho which is great as I now know what I’ve got and I have quite a bit space too thanks to the new freezer.

    I Keep plodding along tho!

As long as you tap it hard n push some fluid out to check first, it's fine, also we're not injecting into veins anyway 😊
Sold some more stuff n managed to get a commercial grade soup maker, for £15 off local selling site .They are over £100 on Amazon

I still think if ever it came to me "self-injecting" it'd be Mr LW who would actually have to do the deed.
When he gave Sidny and Cameron their insulin, he did exactly as Candygirl has described - tapped the syringe and pushed a tiny bit of fluid out of the tip first.

I go through an elaborate ritual whenever I have to have a blood test - this may give you a laugh - it involves lying down and mentally "detaching my arm at the shoulder" sort of thing, so that it's no longer actually a part of me, then they can do what the heck they want with it. Of course, I have to do the reverse of the ritual at the end (I just let them think I need to lie still for a few minutes to regain my equilibrium or they'd think I was mad). It's the only way I can cope with it at all. Oh, and the nurse has strict instructions NOT to give me a running commentary on what's about to happen, as they are normally wont to do. ;)
