Child on board sticker
Options
Since our fireman friend told my wife that a child on board sign prompts firemen to check for a child first in event of an accident, she is adamant that we have one in our car.
We've just changed cars for an s-max with the rear windows tinted. I moved the child on board sign thing into this and realised that it's not at all visible through the glass.
I hav found stickers as signs but they all appear to go on the outside of window.
Can anyone help me find a simple sticker sign that goes on the inside of the window?

So does the sign come out when the baby isn't in the car, to save wasting time looking for a baby that isn't there in the event of an accident?
Would a suction cup one work?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Is that the point of those signs?
I have never seen the reason for them before. I drive carefully all the time but I can image those that don't aren't suddenly going to turn into a perfect driver just because the car in front has a sign in the back window.
Elsein makes a every good point.
Could you find a suitable outside sticker (white writing for example) and stick that onto your inside sign, would that work?0 -
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I think this is an urban myth. I can't imagine the emergency services would rely on a sign from Mothercare that may or may not relate to anything in the vehicle. Surely the presence of toys and feeding bottles etc in the crashed vehicle would be a more reliable indication? As far as I can see, new parents get one of these signs and then it stays in the car for ever after, whether they have the child in the car, or whether it's being used for the daily commute. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

I thought that Child on Board notices were to warn the motorist behind that, at a set of traffic lights, the child might get out of the car and kick your headlights in!0

A sign will really make no difference in the event of an accident because people leave them in their cars all the time no matter if there is a baby in their or not. So no emergency personnel are going to check the car any more throughly in the event of an accident.0

The presence of child or booster seats would give a clue that there might be a child in the car.0

The signs made sense before car seats were a requirement - it warned emergency services that there may be a small child in there. Now they have seats/boosters it should be obvious enough without a sign.
That said, a sign might be useful for instance in car parks where people may give you a bit more space.0
