I don't understand why I can't be verified; I'm logged into Experian credit matcher right now

Same thing happened to me, I posted about it at the start. I signed up for Experian and they had no issues with me.

    Hi Camaj

This sounds like an issue with the info provided on your Credit Club registration. This could be anything from the format of your address to how you've entered your name.

We're constantly pushing Experian to improve how this process works, but unfortunately around 15-20% of people do have problems being matched.

Thanks Dan, seems strange that they can do it for their own site. I'm pretty sure I've entered my details in exactly the same way and the same format on both, everything was pretty straight forward too, but of course I can't see what's going on at the other end.

Can Experian manually fix this or is it too expensive to have manual checks?

    Hi Camaj

I'm afraid that there isn't a manual check process just now. I understand that's a little bit frustrating, but we'll keep plugging away for improvements to be made.
  • Tried to do a credit check as described by MSE Credit Club. Not very successfully, I fear.

    1) Experian refuses to offer a free credit check, despite my double and treble checking the information required.

    2) Callcredit requires a credit card name plus number - whoa, not likely.

    3) Thankfully Equifax's Clearscore did the job, so I'll stick with them.

But what's the deal with Experian, and why do Callcredit want card details when the other two do not?
  • Not sure what is happening with the Experian credit report via Credit Club. Seems like there has been some error in sending the address details to Experian from the credit club signup.

Despite entering my details 100% correct (triple checked, and the address matches exactly the electoral roll and credit club account) the report has my whole first line of the address and postcode missing. This is causing me to show up as not being on the electoral roll and I suspect the reason for practically all my accounts to by missing from the report. It's even missing accounts that were present from the copy of my Experian report I got when I took a trial of CreditExpert a couple of years ago.

The other odd thing is that the credit score given doesn't match the Experian credit score I see via Experian's CreditMatcher or via Barclaycard.

I submitted a query via the "Need some help" but I received no confirmation of this query and the only way it said I could track it is when my credit report next updates, which is a month away?! Seems a bit ridiculous that there is no way to track or even reference such a massive error.

It's one way to get some extra identity confirmation. Using a card that is about to expire is an option if you're worried about unexpected future charges.

    Hi Tomdarkness

I'm sorry to hear that you've spotted an error on your report. You've done the right thing in raising this with Experian who'll now look into this.

It'll respond to your query by email with either follow up suggestions on what to do, or how it is taking this forward for you. So you won't just have to wait for your next report.

Tried doing this and the Experian score and affordatbility score just time out "Loading seems to be taking longer than usual. Please try again later".

Good idea but not working for me...

I just registered with MSE Club and I get the same error message under my credit score and affordability score.
it doesn't display any scores, just this error message and a question mark.

    any advice??
