It's funny, how in the Clearscore thread there are doomsayers saying "I wouldn't give my information to a third party to access my credit score" Yet there's few such moans about the MSE credit club which is exactly the same principle, and just like all the other credit checking tools, will be making plenty in credit card referrals.

Anyway, it's great that we can now check our records against all three agencies for free.

Just had my Clear score report published and credit score in their eyes has gone up by 43 this month and they have the exact information as Experian.

I'm on the up. Latest score from Experian now showing my score as 760 from 721.

I'm on the no change and on the up from Experian. :) No change via MSE but up via Barclaycard with a two day gap between the two scores, MSE later. So "fair" according to Experian via Barclaycard but "poor" via MSE Credit Club.

The information you provide is shared with a range of unspecified third parties. See https://termsandconditions.hdd2.co.uk/Policy/.

I'm surprised Experian charges MSE anything for the service because it's a great way for them to gather information. MSE doesn't appear to have got a good deal here. Experian should pay them!

We can't. MSE's Credit Club doesn't offer us access to our Experian record.

You only get the experian score, and whilst there has been talk on the forum of MSE CC being able to offer a full report in future, I'm not sure that will happen. Since the launch of MSE CC experian have done their own free product, CreditMatcher, which is similar (just gives the score with links for getting CC's/loans/etc), and a ploy to try and get people to upgrade to their paid service. How many people when seeing their score change may panic and subscribe to instantly see why.

    Hi Dan,
When do you expect that users will be able to edit the information they have entered? My salary has changed since I joined, and I had accidentally enter incorrect information that I'd like to correct.
    Many thanks.

    Hi there,

We're hoping to get this in place in the next 2 weeks so be sure to keep checking!

It's taken us a bit longer than we would have hoped to get this live but we hope you find it useful once it's launched.

    Hi nic_c,

We're hoping to give you access to your full report next year but we don't want to commit to a date just yet. It's just to let you know we are working on it and hopefully you'll find it useful once it launches!

I tried to join yesterday, but despite being on the electoral register for years and having lived in the same (paid for) home or almost 30 years and having been employed by the same firm for 13 years, for some reason the site couldn't identify me.

  • I just received an email from MSE CC saying my score has been updated. I have tried to log in but am repeatedly asked for verification details, which I have entered diligently. After entering four lots of details and still being asked for more, I am now very concerned that I am the victim of a fraudulent email.

    Is anyone else having problems?

I have forwarded the email I received to MSE but they don't work weekends!
In God I trust. Everyone else is a suspect.

If you were entering your details at https://clubs.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub/login it would be OK. Check for not quite matching letters in the address and avoid following linked from emails. Instead go to one of your own bookmarks. Forged links in emails are a major source of identity fraud.

It's also good to use a different email address for every site because then you might notice that the email has been sent to the wrong address. At say Gmail it's easy, you can give an address like something#msecreditclub and if the email is to something#yahoo you know it really came from a fraudster who got the email address you gave to yahoo, not the one you gave to msecreditclub. Also works to stop stolen email login details from working because the address won't match the one you gave.
