I fear I was highly untruthful at primary... one child had to take meds in the mornings that made her feel sick. I mentioned it to the office because sometimes she was actually sick after taking them, but wasn't ill. They were horrified and said no no no, she MUST stay home and for 48 hours! Well if she did she would never have been in school, so I didn't mention if she had been sick from the meds again...0

Well a belated happy birthday to you Mrs T! I've got one more year before I fall into a different age group on surveys etc. Not looking forward to that!
Absolutely positively right there with you on the sick thing. We used to have a cat - and I can cat(ha!)egorically say that had I had ANY idea how frequently those furry little devils throw up there is no way she would ever have been allowed to cross the threshold.
I don't recall registering for Self Employment being that tricky when I did it? Hopefully they've not made it too much worse since.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Uhmmm no worryingly not really
I'm just really good at Tetris!
I have a feeling that SOME of the food has been removed without authorization! I think the fish fingers and the crispy chicken is gone (probably meals for DD) - but the staff have not informed me! ARGH!
We do have an american fridge freezer, but it means the freezer is really narrow even if it is full height. It also looses a crap load of space to the ice/water dispenser... The hardships! (Moneysaving angle - we do drink a lot of water as a result which is obviously free instead of expensive pops)

My favourite school battle was when DD had been sick on a school trip to the aquarium... apparently it was super hot (more than usual, there WAS a heat wave!) and they hadn't insisted the children drink enough water so basically she had first stages of heat exhaustion - and then she was sick again on the bus (already unwell and now on a hot bus as aircon not great... ) "You must keep her home for 48 hours!"
My rather unsympathetic reply of "YOU failed to look after her so she threw up! She's not ill, she was sick because of outside factors!" - no dice!
Thankfully my childminder saved me - she could tell DD was absolutely fine so took her for the 2 days and they went to the park and all kinds of fun clubs and I managed to not get into insane trouble with work... Ahh fun old days!
Think I managed to re-register for the self employed bit - the tricky bit is getting them to tell you what your blasted ID is if you haven't got it to hand. Pesky gits! Still no real idea if I've done it right LOL No doubt I'll find out in due course *sigh*DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Oh the wretched 16 digit (or perhaps less, but just feels that long?!) UTRN number that you need to be able to log in anywhere you mean? I've had almighty difficulties with that, including somehow managing to end up with two ID's at one point - thankfully I realised so the second one I never did anything with. :rotfl: Finally resorted to saving my login details in a hidden file on the PC so I could just copy them straight across!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

ALAS! I have survived!
Last night was the Delightful Dumpling's School-thingy-at-church-mebob. I don't do churches and I certainly don't do crowds of other parents. Having been informed that smuggling in neat vodka in a water bottle was frowned on I had no option but to endure the "festivities" stone-cold sober, which I feel is a tad harsh!
So - having arrived AT THE REQUESTED TIME I grudgingly shuffled in to be met with the sight of a packed church - I mean standing room only. Oh joy... 90 minutes of hell and I have to stand?? I navigated my way to the back walls and found a saintly foot (I hope it was a foot?) to lean against whilst craning my neck to try and spot MY off spring the other end of the church in a sea of fidgeting children... all identically dressed.
Eventually I gave in and waved noncommittally in case it could see me, even if I had no hope seeing her.
As a greeting someone (no idea who) started the service apologizing for the standing room situation, cheerfully informing us that the first "sitters" had in fact arrived nearly a cool hour before the service was due to start (thus implying our commitment to our angels might be somehow less...). It would appear though that several parents were of a similar mind set as me as no-one cast me any horrified looks, in fact there may have been sniggers, when I half loud mumbled "and the rest of us were still at work..."
I guess for a religious event it was probably fairly good - most of it was mercifully blocked from memory by the ever increasing pain of the saintly foot in my lower back - I did suspiciously glace up at it's owner but they denied all knowledge of purposely torturing me for my grossly lacking religious leanings and insisted on continuing to merely look mildly accusing at me (and I guess everyone else... I think...)
90 minutes passed and eventually we were allowed to try and fight the biblical flow of people to retrieve any child vaguely looking like our own - turns out Demon Daughters year teacher from last year remembers me (uh oh) and piped up with a terrifying smile promising me to return with my now hyper 7 year old...
Cue more queues to exit the premises...
I'm already planning ways to boycott next years event. I'll never be able to arrive at !!!!!!!g 5 o'clock and I have no intention to stand for 90 minutes again next year just because I'm selfish enough and a terrible parent for having a full time job. Oh and I don't like churches... did I mention that?
Husbeast survived it too - despite jokes about how I was starting to smolder and catch fire what with being on hallowed ground etc... git.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
