  • I've bought from Asda in the past. They're reasonably priced and comfy too

WTBSE, I know I'd be struggling after a few weeks off - push on and I'm sure it'll get easier.

Mallygirl- which app are you using? Have final run tomorrow, so would be good to know where to go from there. Thx

Thanks Fletch, that is my plan. Yesterdays run was a hard one, but i have now made a schedule that i can stick to. I'm running on tues/thurs/sat.
I also need to get some more running socks, because if i wear normal socks i get blisters straight away.

Socks make so much difference! It took me many different pairs by many different companies to find some that suited me. Especially once my feet were wet through from rain / streams / puddles etc.

    Evening All, how is everyone?

I am repeating week 3 for the 3rd time, as i am still feeling its a challenge, but also really enjoy it!
I promise i'll move up to week 4 soon! Like I've always said though, it's not a race for me (at least not yet!) and just the fact that I'm getting out and doing some exercise is a bonus!

Luckily, i seem to have found a good pair to start with. They were only cheap ones from Sports Direct i think. But yes, they make a huge difference!

    Week 3, Day 1 re-done!

    I've had a breakthrough!

I've posted a few times before about my breathing issues while running, and i posted a message on a C25K FB group yesterday. The overwhelming response was to slow down and not worry about speed, but to worry about the breathing.

So this morning i slowed right down and had no breathing problems at all!
When it got to the end of the podcast, i was about 2/4 of the way, so i just rewinded and carried on :)

Feeling really good and cannot see me having to do W3 again!

Someone on here talked about the importance of breathing - maybe it was Indecisiv? Specifically about making sure that the 'breathe out' was really emptying the lungs of the CO2 to allow space for incoming and much needed oxygen (or something along those lines) - it helped me when I started to pay attention to my breathing.

    Week 4 Day 1 done! :j

Not too bad! Much improved now that i have slowed down a bit!

There has been a considerable drop in temperature, so what do you all wear on your top half when running? I cannot go out any buy any new running clothes this month, but i think i need a long sleeve top?
  • Well done WTBSE! It's definitely harder now that it's cooler. I bought a flouro long sleeved top from Sports Direct. Was £11.99 and definitely does the job, I think they may even have some cheaper ones.

I got a long sleeved top from Decathlon - 12.99. it is slightly furry inside so, if anything, is a bit too warm at the moment
