Can we ignore the same old questions please?

The one thing that I would say. Is that there are many good posters with particular areas of expertise. That frequent these sub forums. More than happy to endlessly repeat the same words to help others. That's what a community is. Supporting and helping others with no desire to reap a reward. Totally different to the real world where there's sharks lurking everywhere to rip the shirt off ones back.
I dare say the collection of posters here keep me much more well informed than lazy journalism, poorly informed banking staff out there. Experts we are and with all the cross referencing, we are pretty much spot on i would say. Obviously tainted with individual bias and opinions but if you can sieve though all that, the expertise here is invaluable. Taught me alot of things over my first year here! Keep it up guys! :T
On another note I find this thread a little self-defeating.

Yes. Feel free to do so.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
Had you not been so lazy and thoughtless you'd have discovered many other posts stating "Can we ignore the same old questions please?". So please, in future, before starting a new thread, could you see if there is a similar recent one? Thank you.0

Stick to the boards you clearly know about where repeating a question is "against the rules". Alternatively, the basics of a question on MSE is often contained in the title - just jog on by.
For me, it's not repeat questions that are irritating it's self appointed board monitors, patrolling their chosen forums every single day, often several times a day, like armed guards marching up & down!SevenOfNine wrote: »No response on here is anyone's 'job'. It's voluntary to respond or to just pass it by. The only busybody is the one wishing to encourage the implementation of 'rules' regarding repeat questions.
MSE is a public forum, it doesn't need the bully boy mentality trying to drive people off it. If you don't want to answer a frequently asked question......DON'T. Simple enough to grasp.SevenOfNine wrote: »"Can we ignore the same old questions please"?
Yes. Feel free to do so.

I have £943,468.53 to save/invest, where should I put it?
Actually, I can find good investments on my own, I just want everyone on here to think I'm rich0 -
There is of course the irony of starting a potentially long running thread, complaining about irrelevant threads, so that people can post irrelevancies.
These threads are started by newbies, they don't realise the issue around their posts because they aren't regulars, by definition.
Whether it will have an effect is a different story, I started a thread a couple of years ago complaining about all the 'savings diaries', which consisted mainly of individuals posting their favourite colours and what they'd had for lunch. I was shot down a bit, but they do seem to have largely disappeared, or possibly moved to a more relevant board.0 -
I had two eggs for breakfast in my favourite blue eggcups, and won £25 on the premium bonds and can put £11.53 in the building society this quarter.0

I do find it that strange on the "What debt free wannabe things have you done today?" type threads, that people seem to consider things like posting a letter or getting their children ready for school as money-saving.0 -
So did I but I used the expression "pink and fluffy" and was accused of the worst calumny ever!Whether it will have an effect is a different story, I started a thread a couple of years ago complaining about all the 'savings diaries', which consisted mainly of individuals posting their favourite colours and what they'd had for lunch.
