I'm not sure I quite understand your question, but rules 127-132 detail the rules regarding road markings, including broken lines, solid lines and hatched markings; they say when you may cross them into the other (oncoming) side of the road.0

I find that flicking the brake levers a few times with a loud click usually works, and doesn't feel quite so impatient.
That's what they do in Amsterdam where pedestrians have to give way to cyclists anywhere. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

I've no idea - I wasn't driving in the 1930s and I've not read the HC of the 1930s.
Prowla, the last time you revealed your interpretation of the "Keep Left" rule you said you were considering the IAM. Did you take that any further, and did you ask them about correct lane positioning?

I know you're driving at something here...
...can you tell me what it is?
https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Highway_Code_(1931)
RULE OF THE ROAD. Vehicles.—Keep to the left (or near side) except when overtaking other vehicles or avoiding obstructions: when overtaking, overtake on the right (or off-side).
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/using-the-road-159-to-203
Rule 160
Once moving you should- keep to the left, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise. The exceptions are when you want to overtake, turn right or pass parked vehicles or pedestrians in the road

A bit ironic, having such a sign blocking a cycle lane.:D
That looks like Australia, isn't the use of cycle lanes mandatory in some States there?0 -
it would even be reasonable to ban cyclists on many trunk roads.
Not unless they start marking cycle paths on road atlases, and not unless they signpost them with more than just a bicycle logo. A major reason for my not using cycle paths is that they can make navigation nigh on impossible.
I sometimes use trunk roads for the same reason motorists do, to get from A to B quickly, a lot of cycle paths are routed on the assumption that avoiding traffic is the only criterion.0
