Good luck to all newbies, you can't go wrong here :A:A
Are you talking about me!!!!!:eek::rotfl:
Thanks for the new thread shala. You're a star!:A
Haven't posted for a couple of days but have managed to read. Welcome to new posters, you'll do well with us. Do ask any questions you like, however ridiculous they may seem. We've all been there starting out.
I went to WI on Thursday and although a gain I'm still within target range so I can live with that. The consultant was handing out printed slips explaining that the scales had been weighing light and she didn't know for how long. The (very large ) woman who weighed in front of me was the first loss of the evening and I certainly didn't add to the list.:o
I'm giving myself a bit of leeway at the moment as I've a number of off plan meals booked in from Thursday to Thursday this week. It'll probably mean a gain but I won't know about it (other than if my jeans feel tight:() as I won't be going to WI again for a while so I have time to sort it.
Lazy garlic was on offer (99p) at my Aldi this week and amazingly the pack size is 200g whereas the old one is 180g. Tried a Benefit bar last night (apple and sultana) and enjoyed it. I'm going to do a pot of braised red cabbage to freeze as all the Aunt Bessie's is gone and I prefer the taste of mine (adapted Delia recipe) anyway.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: probably ham and mushrooms omelette with picklesHB steak (onions and mushrooms) with SW roast parsnips and potatoes, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauli
Syns: weekend wine:j0 -

Hi everyone, loving the shiny new thread
Just a quick post before I say toodlepip to you all for 2 weeks as I'm off on my holibobs at a ridiculous hour in the morning! Last year I put on 4lbs which I was amazed at as I'd been a bit naughty but I bloated up an extra dress size which was horrible so I'm going to try my best to keep the pigging out to a minimumI'm hoping to drink tons of water and eat lots of Greek salads to minimise the damage!
Welcome to the newcomers, this thread's lovely and supportive - it's been my group as I don't attend one.
On the subject of group vs online I've never been able to attend to a group so can't comment on that - I'm back to being an online member to give me focus. Tbh it's not that amazing there's very little support although from time to time there are live webchats which are really useful. Plus with online membership there's access to the syns database as well which I find very handy. But there are a few FB groups with syns info for free (such as Syns Allowed) and you can often find out syns info by googling. If you ask on here as well, more often than not someone will reply to you and give you the info you need
Signing off now, see you all in 2 weeks. Enjoy France denise when you head off and have a great bank holiday everyone

Hi guys.
Planning on making the lamb kebab tomorrow. I've just looked at the recipe and it says it's 10 syns! Is it the lamb mince that has the syns in it? And does anywhere know where you can get extra lean lamb mince from? I'm thinking the butchers but can imagine it would be mega expensive!
Thanks! Xx0 -

Hello
If you mean the SW fakeaway kebab, I use extra lean beef mince and crumble three lamb oxos into it - tastes lovely and much cheaper than asking a butcher for SW lamb mince!
I'm going to make a green bean thing I've seen online tomorrow so will let you know how that goes, it's very speedy and I think it'd make a good side dish with meat instead of potatoes so would be SP friendly too.
I'm joining in on Monday.
I would like 9lb off by 23rd October when Top Bloke and I are going to a gig. That will be my next completely off plan meal.
I'm off to Frankie and Benny's on Tuesday, anyone know the best low syn option, or even any of their syn values please?0 -
Hi all
Thanks for the shiny new thread Shala. 17 weeks to xmas  Ok no need to panic lol.
Today I had:
Breakfast: toast (HEB), bacon, mushrooms and tomato, 2 x DG cafe au lait (4 syns)
Snack: Scone (5 syns)
Dinner: Roast chicken, Roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, gravy (2 syns)
pudding: Strawberries
Supper: Cheese and crackerbread (4 syns)
total syns 15 syns
Need to plan for tomorrow as I am back at work and that really caught me out on Thursday when I came home and realised I hadn't taken anything out for dinner.0 -
Thanks top girl! I'll try it with beef mince then! I've always used lamb but never cared about the fat content before!

I can't see Frankie and Benny's on the SW website topgirl.

The menus do tell you the lowest calorie options. So probably prawn cocktail followed by steak and salad or a spaghetti pomodoro minus the mozzarella (unless you count that as a HEA). would be goodish choices.
I've spent the afternoon pottering in the kitchen. HB steak is all done, just need to thicken it up on the hob when I'm ready. Red cabbage is all prepped and I'll put that in a low oven this evening.
Have a great holiday candy. Mediterranean food can be very healthy and full of Speed. You just need to stay away from the bread and the booze!;) But if you do what's the point of a holiday!:rotfl:Enjoy yourself, take the hit and draw a line as soon as you come back:).0 -
Sadly, today was a fail
Bacon, egg and mushroom sandwich (HEXB)
D) Erm, pub. Chilli nacho soup for starter, sunday dinner and a couple of ciders.
So, there we have it. I FAILED the summer challenge.
Bring on Halloween. I'd like to be more Nightmare Before Christmas than The Great Pumpkin by October!
Tomorrow's menu:Mushroom and egg hash.
D) Speed soup or the green bean thing.
T) Either savoury mince or lasagne, the latter of which will use my HEXA. The ingredients are in for both.
Going to make a curry loaf to pick at. Syns will either be milk in brews (6 for 300ml of orange top?) or one of the million 99 calorie chocolate biscuits my fridge harbours as 5 syn options.
I might even dust off the exercise bikeTime for a real change chez Top Girl as I am extremely unhappy with my size atm. I'm not even THAT big, mostly a 14, with a few 16s when needed and I'm 5 foot 6 but with a heavy build. My mummy tummy needs to return to its tomb though. All my favourite clothes are a 12 or thereabouts
and I simply can't afford any more!
