    Morning all

I had a lovely lie-in this morning :D - DH brought me a cup of tea in bed and suggested I stay put for another couple of hours, so I took him up on the offer. (No doubt he'll be after a day off to play golf soon ;))

Cathy - welcome to the thread, you'll fit right in here, we're a friendly bunch with lots of knowledge to share so feel free to ask anything. Like you, I got up into that weight range starting with a 2, and that was the trigger to do something about it. I'm over half way to where I want to be, having lost nearly 3.5 stone but I'm taking the very scenic route with lots of resting points to enjoy the view along the way. I'm approaching a significant birthday this time next year and I'm aiming to be at target by then, and planning to maintain for the rest of my life this time (having been there once before and failed).

MrsRyan - I know exactly how you feel about buying clothes - there seems to be a huge variation between different makes of jeans particularly with size 20s and 22s. I'm wearing size 22 and they're definitely too big, I can take them off without undoing them, but I also have some 20s in the wardrobe that I'm hoping to get into and they're too tight. I've decided not to buy more trousers until next year, I'll get by with the ones I've got until then, and I'm hoping it's going to be easier then!

TIE - pleased to hear your OH's job is all coming together. I used to work in recruitment and if there was a long gap between offering someone a job and their start date we would find reasons to get in touch with the person at regular intervals to make sure they were still on board! That was for the company's benefit after having had someone that took another job and didn't bother telling us.

Well done Bettyboof - great loss. Hope you're feeling better now.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

    LL :)

I'm not doing much today, just pottering. I plan to cook a piece of gammon and make soup for the freezer. It's dull and much cooler today. Although I think the sun's coming back later next week it's good to have some soup at the ready and it's another choice of lunch to add to my list.

    My EE plan for today:
B:NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: ham with bubble & squeak (mash with cauli, cabbage, peas and carrots) and pickles
D: burger, fried onions, SW chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, green stuff (asparagus, mange tout, peas).
Syns: squirt of syrup, weekend wine.:D

    Hi everyone,

Finished my two mega busy days at work so I can finally get a chance to come and see what you're all up to :D How are you all?

No weigh in for me this week as I was stuck at work, we got pizza ordered in for us but I only had one slice and then ran away home so I wasn't tempted by more!:T

Jeez Lois, you have some willpower resisting a warm pain au chocolat :T

Welcome to the thread cathy - I've added you to the challenge. Amazing loss so far :T:T If you get stuck in a bit of a rut then sometimes weight losses do slow down - a few question we always seem to find help - do you vary your meals a lot? are you measuring your healthy extras? are you drinking enough water? are your speed foods equalling 1/3rd of your meals? are your portion sizes ok? hope this helps.. Tete's post on the front page may help too..

Hugs rjhammond, it's good you can see the positives of the situation but anniversaries are still difficult xx Have you got something planned today to keep your mind off it?

    Meal plan EE
Brunch - heck sausages (2.5) egg, wholemeal thin (heb) apple
Tea - SW Chinese stir fry sauce thing from Iceland, pork, noodles and stir fry veg
Snacks - not sure - shouldn't need many as i'm at the hairdressers all afternoon

We're struggling with speed food today as the weekly shop hasn't been done yet so all veg is out the freezer and there's one manky banana left in the fruitbowl :rotfl:

BTW, Our consultant posted on our facebook yesterday to say the Coconut hifis have run out and they're not going to back in stock until next year  so if you love them, pick a few boxes if you want a stash..
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Not sure which tablets you have but I took amytryplilene last night to relax my aching back. They really wipe me out and I was still dozy this morning. At least you should get a good night's sleep. :)

    Sertraline for anxiety :(

They've knocked me for six, had one meal on Thursday and managed two yesterday, one at one o'clock, the other at 11.15 at night!

Trying to get back on track today.

    B) An apple and a cup of tea

    D) Tuna mayonnaise and sweetcorn sandwich (HEXB + 2 + 2 for mayo) and some melon

    T) Moroccan pork and rice

BM - Dog walk and mooch over to the Asda

    HEXA - milk in tea

Still incredibly sleepy. Top Boy has his first football match for a local team tomorrow so I'll be up at the crack of dawn ready to cheer him on.

Hopping on to say Howdie

Hope all is well with you all. Just to let you know I got through the whole Summer, no sugar, no binges, no weight gain, in fact, a 10lb loss. So now I'm readjusting my target because I was happy with where I had got to, but I think I could lose a little more.

I think I like to have a plan, and a target, and once I've 'made it' I don't know what to do with myself :D

I even had pals down for a week, and we had a meal out, and chips on the beach, but it didn't lead to a binge, and I even lost 1lb that week :j

Just got to stay focused, NOT EAT SUGAR, and all should be well :T

Really hoping you are all fit and well and happy.

    LOADS of love

That's brilliant frogga I'm so pleased for you. I remember you having friends over in the school holidays a couple of years ago and it really freaked you because of the expectation of eating chips and not being able to stop. You're in such a good place now. :A

Sorry to hear about the anxiety topgirl . Is it going back to work? At least you're not comfort eating so that's a plus.

Thoroughly miserable day here but not using food to cheer me up but might be using fizz that's just opened. :o
  • Hey guys.

Was on a night shift until 7 this morning so have spent the majority of the day in bed. Trying my hardest to avoid the kitchen because I know I'll be raiding the cupboards for rubbish food.
Thinking of going into Exeter tomorrow. I need to go shopping for fat pants for a wedding next weekend because although I've managed to get into a size 12, you can still see my podgy belly. Might treat myself to a pair of shoes.. Maybe some new converse!

Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it xx

Good news on the van for your DH.
I am confused(often am!) about why you need to get a taxi to school?
Are you at a temp site?

I think the child tiesupports has to go to a different site. I think it's once a week.

It's a shame that the weight doesn't go first from the bits we want rj but getting to size 12 is good. :T

Mrsp, you are bonkers, but I am in awe of you! You deserve your cheeky wee break.

I’d send you a hug, Emmylou, but it might cause you too much pain, so I’m sending healing vibes instead.

Hello, cathy. That’s some determination you’ve shown! Come on in; there’s always someone up for a blether here. I love the support, although I’m definitely not a shining example of weight loss. I do love the SW approach as it is “real” eating. I am losing weight, albeit at snail’s pace. But I am happy. I have just got a new cat, Star, (predecessor passed away in February) who is 13, arthritic, has a thyroid issue that means she’s always hungry but never puts on weight, is deaf and has 3 legs. She’s perfect. I’m also a football fan and go to watch almost all of Falkirk’s games. That can drive me to comfort eating!

rj, look just how far you’ve come in a year. You are your own person and in charge of your life and you’re doing magnificently.

All I can say, Betty, is WOW!

TIE, I’ll be thinking about you on Monday morning. Good luck with the redevelopment. Sounds like Monday will be an exciting day chez TIE. All that and a loss too!

Great to hear from you again, frogga. Well done on the loss and living life.

Well, Saturday was definitely not sensational SW. As usual started well, then things didn’t pan out as they were supposed to so I didn’t get lunch. Bright interlude – the mighty Bairns won 6-1 today and I didn’t succumb to stadium food despite not having had lunch. I shared a curry with DH and I also shared a naan bread because I was hungry because I didn’t get lunch. I still have my hexa so I’ll probably have cheese and apple tonight. Did I mention I missed out on lunch today?

    Till tomorrow.
