Hey Cathy!
If you'd like to get to know us better you can start with me! I'm 29, got married last year, totally obsessed with cats, enjoy running, and just reached target after losing 1 st 5lbs.0 -

Please may I join in your challenge? I haven't posted in mse since before I got sick in February I don't think....sick enough to be hospitalised in intensive care for a week and in hospital for a total of 10 days with Pneumonia and a large Pleural Effusion- in short, at 36 luckily for me the Grim Reaper didn't manage to catch me, as the lung consultant told me that I was an accident waiting to happen...back in Feb lets just say my weight began with a 2 rather than the 1 it does now. I got on the sw and exercise bandwagon and from 19 Feb to date I have lost 7st 4lbs by myself, no groups apart from a couple on good ol bookface but am unhappy to report that things have now started to slow down...and I've still got more to lose...and I'm also finding certain things expensive, hence me turning up back here! The groups I'm a member of are all well and good but there's no one that you can actually have a chat to or post to, or just chew the cud over the latest "tweak or not to tweak" argument and generally "bond" lol. I'd really love to get to know some people on here for some additional support, I can't make the local sw group as my shifts are erratic, and it's just nice to have a thread and/or fb group where you can log in and join in at any time of day or night...I need likeminded people for a chinwag.
If I'm ok to join in I would like to lose 21lbs at least by Halloween, and I'll PM lushlifesaver to ask to be added to the group.
I hope to be talking to you all a bit more soon.
Cathy

Welcome Cathy, I don't post much but just wanted to say well done on losing over 7 stone :T. I've lost 3 stone 2 lb since November going it alone and with help from the SW experts on here. Ask away and there will be one of the regulars along to answer any queries you have or just for a chinwag if that's what you need.0 -
Hi cathyI'm another target member like debjay and just wanted to say you're very welcome. The lovely Shala will add you to the target list. If you can't get to a group, do you have the SW books and know how the plan works? We'll help all we can just ask any questions you want.0

Hi everyone
Thanks for your kind wordsI must say maman, I'm questioning the wisdom of my studies at the moment
I received the materials for my final modules and I just thought this looks hard
Yesterday (Friday) was a tough day. I went shopping and it seems everything I tried on I looked fat and lumpy in or it didn't fit- I tried on two pairs of amazing jeans, one a size 22 in River Island and one a size 20 in Primark and neither fitted which left me a bit downhearted. I ended up buying some black jeggings and a t-shirt which is clearly too big but covers me up. I trudged off into M&S and bought some stuff for lunch which I was convinced would tip me over my syns but upon checking the actual syns I was pleasantly surprised.
Friday's food:
B: 2 melon slices, 2 Quorn sausage patties (1 syn) HEXA Tesco light processed cheese slices, 2 scrambled eggs, 1 Crackerbread (1 syn) Water.
L: M&S Lochmuir Hot Smoked Salmon and Potato Salad (3.5 syns) M&S Spirit of Summer Pina Colada Mocktail Shaker (3.5 syns)
T: Sea bass fillets, peas, sweetcorn, broccoli, spinach, Worcester sauce. Strawberries, blackberries, pineapple, melon, Light and Free yoghurt. Glass of wine (3 syns)
S: HEXB 2 x HiFi bars, SW sweetcorn chowder.
Drinks: Water, lime and soda.
Syns: 12
Hi by the way Cathy :hello: to add to what mrsp said- everyone here is super lovely and helpfulI'm a bit of a yo yo person- I'm always falling off the wagon
I'm 35, obsessed with rugby and have several chronic illnesses. Well done on your fab loss so far- sorry to hear you've had such a rough time of it health wise.
Hope all is good with you all xxx*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Not slimming world related but feeling rather flat at the moment. Checked my 'memories' on Facebook and realised a year ago today me and a ex split up. I've been fine ever since the break up due to us arguing and it all going Pete tong for quite some time before splitting up but today but now I feel quite down about it.
The only positive is that I've made a good life for myself without his help and without any help from anyone else.
Sorry for the very depressing sounding post.

Morning all!
Thank you for making me feel so welcome!! Maman, I do have the books however it can be a bit of a pest to keep abreast of things when they keep changing flipping hex's and one min you're allowed something and the next you're not lol I had a right grizzle when the olive oil was removed as a b choice! Can you guess I'm a proper chip lover! Nice to meet you mrsp, debjay and Mrs_Ryanmrsp, I am glad to meet a fellow cat obsessed person, I have one biggun of 4 (Jet) and two babies at 5 months (Ella & Luna) who are little monsters!
It pains me to report that I have just hopped on the scales and have stayed the same since last week, it's coming up to "that time" so I'm not going to grump too much, it's not a gain so i'll take that!
Menu Plan for today is as follows(I love days where I'm not at work):
Brekkie: Heck Sausages (1.25 syns)Egg & mushrooms on hm hash browns
Lunch: If hungry after huge brekkie fruit & yogurt
Dinner: Homemade black & blue burger (using w/meal roll (b) lean bacon, musclefoods hache steak, mushrooms & lowlow cheese spread (a) ) Chips & Salad
May spend some syns on wine, I do mine weekly & count back from 105- works for me although I know it doesn't for some.
Sorry for long ranty post lol lots to fit in!
Enjoy your day everyone, and rj, focus on your positive outcome- you've built a good life for yourself.....that's hard!!0 -
Thank you for the new post Shala!
I'm reporting a 4lb loss for the first week of the new challenge please Shala. I can't take all the credit as I haven't been well so haven't been eating as much as usual but I'm not complaining!! I got SOTW at class for the first time ever - hooray!
Welcome to all our newbies, this is a lovely group so feel free to ask anything.
Sorry you're feeling down rjhammond91, anniversaries can be hard. Finding and maintaining your own happiness is a major achievement, you should be proud of yourself and how well you've done. Treat yourself to something (non-food related!) nice this weekend and nurture yourself a bit.0 -

I may have to hunt out a copy of Take a Break. Mrs_Ryan; sounds interesting.
We had flip flops available at my son’s wedding, with a wee poem, lush.
You’ll not know what to do with yourselves, Lois.
Good news re your loss, mary.
Friday’s Fancies
Breakfast: poached eggs and beans on hexb toast
Lunch (out): baked potato with egg mayo (3?) and a very tasty salad (no dressing), a [STRIKE]very small[/STRIKE] slice of orange and ginger cake Does anyone have a Pinocchio emoji?
Dinner: hm “whatever I found in fridge” soup (onion, leek, celery, red peppers, carrot, broccoli stalks, asparagus, red chilli, paprika, baked beans), liberte mango yogurt (1)
Snack: hexa cheese & grapes
Night all.
The 1st day was completely in the hall on REALLY uncomfortable chairs. I have restless leg syndrome and was in pain by lunch. First we did the child protection update then it was Talk for Writing for rest of day (yawn). Day 2 began with Fire/bomb threat update (we had bomb threat and evacuated end of last term) then into classes to get them ready. Also meetings re the pupils I support with their new teachers. Also found out the child's taxi will be full so I can't go with him (:j) so back to own taxi for me
. Roll on Christmas when it ends though. Did have a bit of good news when I collared head and asked about redeveloping an area outside our classroom and he agreed . Down to me to plan though. So all in all not too bad thanks. Monday may be a different thing though .

Welcome Cathy, pull up a chair and join the mad house. Well done on your fantastic loss to date :T.
I'm also a target member (10 years) I celebrated my Hawaiian birthday this year (refuse to write the number) and lost 3.5st for target. This is a fantastic site with super duper people who will do their very best to answer your questions, motivate and generally support you along the way. Also can give you a poke with a stick when required
. The first page of this thread has recipes and info so a good place to start (thanks to Shala for this :A).
Very good luck on your journey :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Feeling less anxious about hubbys new job as his van arrived yesterday :j so all ready for start on Monday.
WI today with an amazing 1.6lb loss (amazing for me anyway). Wore the Asda 10s yesterday and they were really comfortable so maybe I have dropped a size as they were a bit snug compared to Tescos.
Have a good weekend all and keep the faith :A:AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I'd call that the positive rj. Losing weight is for yourself. It'll make you feel better and in control and doing it with SW is healthy!:Dkatylou6180 wrote: »It pains me to report that I have just hopped on the scales and have stayed the same since last week, it's coming up to "that time" so I'm not going to grump too much, it's not a gain so i'll take that!
I do mine weekly & count back from 105- works for me although I know it doesn't for some.
STS is fine under the circumstances katy. If you stick with the plan you'll see a loss even if it doesn't come straight away. Your menu today looks a bit short on Speed. You'd need an awful lot of mushrooms and salad to make a third. I'd try to have that fruit snack if you can. I'm a Speed fiend.;)
It is irritating how they change HEXs especially brands disappearing as recipes change. I find sticking to bread and milk and limited cereal the easiest although I have bought Aldi Benefit bars to try.
Lots of us (me definitely included) work on the syn bank idea even if it's not official SW poicy. I've done it since I started. I tend to have loads of syns (75+) at the weekend and then eat very low syn during the week.
Back soon.0
