Little point in lecturing Westminster and Whitehall. When the SNP have even less of a clue. The pot calling the kettle black springs to mind. The problems and difficulties will be addressed as they arise. They won't simply be ignored while people pretend they won't be any issues. A settlement will evolve over time. In the same period the EU might change as well. Far from being a united group. Politicians only have limited life spans on the stage.0 -
you mean that London will set iscotland bank rates for them and will control all scotland state borrowing and will control scotland's banks (if they have any) as lender of last resort.
The Scottish pound.Prof Stiglitz says floating "Scottish pound" could boost indy Scots economy, cutting deficit - and thus smoothing path to EU membershipIt all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Does your last post mean you endorse the quotes you posted, where Scotland would not 'remain' an EU member and that you would need to re-join? Since that's what the Professor said.0 -

The Scottish thread is either up a few threads or down a few threads on the board from this one if you wish to discuss Scottish issues any further. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
