Why would you breastfeed a baby to rehydrate it ? Surely you'd give it some water from a bottle ?

You won't get a refund, sorry.

How has this thread reached over thirty replies? Once the OP started responding it became obvious it's a wind up.

    It has to be.

We holidayed in London when the temperature was in the 30s.

The only cool place was the underground aquarium.

Our windows only opened a few inches because a statue outside the window prevented it opening any more.

We were provided with a desk fan which was left running all the time. It kept the room bearable.

We went to the theatre one night and they were giving out free bottles of water because of the high temperature in the theatre.

Many people left at the interval as it was so hot.

Because babies shouldn't be given water under six months of age, after this a sip or two at most is advised until around nine months.

Breastfed babies are also fed from breasts, not bottles.
  • Hey I live in NI , it's a rare day we get over 20oC
, but we have high humidity and I don't have more then a 4.5 tog duvet all year round

We cope with the heat by stripping off and wearing sod all or in the case of the grandchild, a nappy.

    We drink a lot

We open the windows and listen to the tractors all night

    We survive

Cos this is the Uk and not a country on the equator

We get one or three hot nights a year. Only the poorly will suffer beyond being uncomfortable

Hell I've been in Turkey with the temps being near 50oC. No AC. Not comfortable but we lived

And to cut a long consumer rights thread short did you book a room with air conditioning?

If not then you are due no refund!

Just to reassure you, guess how many babies died of dehydration in the long, hot summer of 1976, long before air-con. Thats right. None
How do you know this seeing as the actual statistics for deaths caused by the heat weren't broken down to include babies.
There was however, a 5.9% increase in deaths of people in the 0-14 age range so it's entirely possible that some of these were babies.

Find any newspaper report from the time where it was reported a baby died directly from the heat? Such a story would have been news in 1976, just as now. There are no such stories in any newspaper archives I looked at.

Certainly some old people died during that long hot spell, but babies are unlikely to have been left alone long enough to dehydrate in the same manner.

Regardless, the thread is needlessly digressing. The Baby was not put in any danger as the Mother removed her to cooler "safety" .

No refund will ever be forthcoming from the hotel no matter how long this thread continues for...
