Evening
FIL looked after DS while I got DD to ballet and did the grocery shop. He also washed up and cut the grass :A
Got DD home and out on the bike again - she needed practice, and can now set off on her own :T just to master going round corners and she's all set, haha.
All shopping put away, more laundry done (rest brought in and put in airing cupboard as the rain arrived).
Other than that, just pottering, attacking the shower screen with limescale remover, making dinner and generally rehoming stuff.
Looked into having Xmas dinner out but the nice places are charging £55+ per adult and it would be over £200 for us and inlaws. I don't think they'll be up for that. Maybe they can find one better value.
Made plans for bank hol afternoon- fingers crossed the weather forecast is accurate...Bossymoo

Hi all
Jazee Glad you are getting a new pup, very exciting.
So DS1s attempts at cycle acrobatics has not ended well. Looks like he might need surgery on his shoulder, poor kid, as if things aren't hard enough for him. And my old shoulder problem is niggling, DH is insisting that I see a professional ... and I am supposed to be not doing what I am doing now, sitting with the laptop on my knee.
I have achieved a lot today, some paid stuff, some cleaning, all the laundry dried, ironed and put away. Isnt it dark tonight?
Bossy now the kids are a bit older I would quite like to go away for Christmas and we looked at holiday cottages, its mad, the prices triple in some places.
Better switch this off and have some screen free time.0 -
DH went out at 8.00 am and by 12.45 I had done everything that was left on my list (I'd been shopping yesterday evening after our trip to London) and had cleaned through the downstairs rooms, moved furniture round to seat 17 people and prepared lunch for me and my German visitors. They arrived promptly, ate almost every bit and sang to me as a thank-you. They had left by 2.30 and I cleared everything away, put the DW on twice, did WM x1 and fell asleep on the sofa until DH rang to say he was on his way home. I have reheated the bolognaise that I made last night and cooked pasta and veg, so it is ready to eat as soon as he arrives home.
It's been a good day
Hope Dancepops is nottoo sore today.
Looking forward to seeing a pic of the new puppy Jazee - I won't ask for one of you in the shop window :rotfl:
Hugs all round xxx - DH is home so I must dish up now.0 -

er - no- I think that's normal.............isn't it?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Narc0 I finished that mindfulness course - I struggle to find the time for meditation but I have found I can centre myself quite quickly if I'm getting frustrated or anxious. I've since done one on nutrition (nothing new really) and just started one on managing personal investments (!) as I wanted to keep my study routine between college courses.
Well done. I enjoyed what I did of it, and it's only just beginning to 'wear off' as I don't practise enough. Maybe I'll pick it up one day, the good thing about those on-line things is I think they stay there so you can go back to them.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Sorry to hear that both of you. I hadn't realised how much inconvenience dodgy shoulders could be till this one. Touch wood it is improving now, physio session next Tues just to watch me do the exercises she set in the gym.
A morning in the garden for Mr N and I; a great deal pruned/cleared/shredded/mown/pulled so several places look a lot better. It's like a desert though - we were meant to get rain today but no sign.
Spent afternoon mainly taking MIL shopping but we got a few last minute odds & s*ds too - I'll swear the "last few things" bought for a holiday cost more than the holiday itself, despite going to cheap shops, using vouchers etc.
Now started some serious clothes folding/packing, but tired so I think it will be an early night. Poor Mr N has tonsillitis; luckily he managed to get in to see the doc and get some antibiotics so hopefully he won't be ill while we're away. I'll just be paranoid about any interaction with his rheumatoid arthritis med plus the malaria tablets.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Narco, you can have some of our rain. Left bedding on line which was almost dry when I went out yesterday, its still out there and will need rinsing and spinning in the machine again.
Decorating here today as new hall carpet is being done on Thursday.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all.
Been up since 6.30am as I'm trying to get my body used to early starts again. DD isn't impressed :rotfl: Work this morning, laundry, finishing off the lists, and then out poke hunting as I've heard of something reasonably rare spawning at a specific place at a certain timeI just hope the weather stays dry enough to go!
Already stripped DD's bed, got my bed airing with my bedroom windows wide open. WM load of towels done, big ones out on the line to dry a bit, flannels etc are in the TD waiting to go on as we're due rain around 11.30 so I want the minimum amount to bring in in case it starts earlierThen the TD can go on for a bit.

Two loads through WM, both bedding. 1 load through DW. Meeting my friend at the artisan market later. One mouse released at 5 am. I might set the cat flap fou out only at night, if I ever work out how. Weather forecast iffy for today but sunny tomorrow so somethings wrong :rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
What an awful night sleep. But it's Sunday and although I am working tomorrow it's working from home so not too bad.
Clearing out is on the to do list today. DS2 is getting some new furniture and we need to empty his old cupboards.. some paperwork to shred too and I think it's time to look at the summer clothes that I haven't worn this year and see if they should be kept.
Must try to stay off the tablet, phone and laptop as much as possible!0
