And true to form a lot of them have showed up on this thread. Just to remind the world how little they care.

What we care about is the UK doing even better as an autonomous, nimble outwards looking state, free from the EU drag. Others will follow our example, this is a beacon of democracy to inspire others.

The cosy liberal set of course don't want anything to change, now that's selfish and small minded, regressive and fearful.

I don't think there should be massive wealth gaps between people. If there is a opportunity to make money, you make sure that you seize it. If you don't, someone else will.

The same argument that justified the slave trade.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I believe in austerity. As when I go to work I can identify the waste. The inefficiencies, the lack of productivity. In my latter years I now save money for the taxpayer. Words are cheap. Action is priceless. :)

You spent the early years wasting taxpayer's money then?

I don't think the UK will be thrown to the wolves. We are important enough on the world stage that the powers in Europe and the USA won't want to see a poor weak UK so I am hopeful that we will get good trade deals with the EU and the rest of the world.

Its almost unavoidable that we will see lower growth than otherwise would have happened for the next 2-3 years but hopefully it won't be too bad and we will get through it.

I do think we should keep some form of free movement with the EU and possibly even extend it to the USA. A language test and points based heavily on age would be a good outcome. Basically anyone who can speak OK English and is in their 20s would be welcome. The idea simply being that economic migrants in their early 20s provide the most economic benefit as they work more years and contribute than a migrant who is say 50 and will be retired and have costly healthcare in just 15 years time.

If you actually look back at the forecasts of economists such as the BoE, IMF, etc they only ever said their "might" or "could" be a recession. No-one (other than politicians) ever said there "would" be a recession.
    You sure about that? :rotfl:

    I am a realist.

I do believe there will 100% be a recession if we vote Leave.

You should get ready for it.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

We are the second largest net importer in the world, after the US. The EU and the rest of the world aren't going to offer us good trade deals out of charity - they are going to do so because it is in their economic interests to be able to export freely to us.

with fine and worthy sentiment like that, one wonders why you vote to exclude black africian countries from being treated equally with the white chrisitian european people.

You know the benefits of trade and so you are in no doubt about the 40 years and more of harm the EU has knowing and deliberately done to the poor agricultural countries of Africa; and all to keep a few rich french and german farmers happy.
  • Firstly I would say I voted Remain, but only to see if we could get a better deal.

We cannot yet know what will happen, but I am hopeful. We are a strong nation and we have the commonwealth behind us, we will get through it.

What I would truly struggle with would be the EU Superstate. That is the way they are heading. Yes, we may have been able to delay it if we were still in the club, but they would then have changed the rules so we could not. They are even looking to stop people leaving the club. They want the EU to act as a single country, as demonstrated by the fact that they have their own flag. It wont be long before every country in the EU is forced to take on the Euro too, even though it is destroying a lot of countries' economies. Juncker's attitude alone is enough to destroy the EU.

I seem to recall one of the EU "officials" complaining about democracy when brexit was voted for.

Of course they could have given us a few more concessions, but once again Juncker's idiocy stopped this happening.

Now EU may be able to finally wake up to themselves. They are an outdated institution. They even still run the Strasbourg section just because France has a tantrum if they propose to move all parliamentary activities to Brussels. This costs £130 million a year. If they are wiling to spend that much to stop one of their countries having a tantrum, then how much more goes to waste.

Of course the other way they try to glue the broken EU together is with the Euro. It is a bad idea, not all countries are equal and they cannot deal with interest rates suited to one, in this case Germany. It is wrecking the economies of places like Greece and Italy and they will not admit that, they just keep throwing money at the failed project.

On the whole I think I am glad we are leaving. It may be damaging in the short term, but in the long term we are free to go in our own direction and discover our own future.

Yeah. The reason Claptrap votes UKIP is because hes sad there isn't enough African immigration.

A better deal? The UK already had the best deal imaginable. We had almost all the opt outs we wanted with full integration for trade and policy making.

It's this kind of thinking which makes me believe the EU is better off without us.

As far as, all the commonwealth behind us.

    ???!!!!

If they are behind us now I can't imagine what they would start to do if they were opposed to us.
