Which is why the implant on paper sounds good, but is generally poor over the three years of use, which is why many are now replaced after 18 montha.

I think three years is still the standard.

They do! It's always been known (informally) to be unreliable.

Care to show all this evidence? Or is comparing the number of users to the numbers of pregnancies too difficult for you?

I do hope you've never had sex unless you have been sterilised, otherwise every form of contraception you have used has been very unreliable and very irresponsible.

Incidentally, in countries who show reliable above 99%, the IUD has shown to be 99.8% effective in use. The copper only version is 99.9% effective in use.

Because you're incredibly vague about exactly who it is that thinks multiple abortions is better than contraception. You're talking about 'prevention being better than cure' as though its some radical idea that you've come up with rather than the way pretty much everybody else thinks on the subject too!

No, I am not. I am not sure where you are getting any of the above from. Yet again you are distorting or manipulating things to suit your own agenda.

If you are not being vague, then can you point us to who uses abortion as their only form of contraception?

You are known to be able to pick an argument in an empty room GwylimT but is there any need to be so teenage, snide and rude?

Possibly (with the help of Person_one) you are interpreting my posts as someone pointing a bit stick at you personally. It's really not meant to be!

Or possibly it's because I've called you up on a couple of occasions on other threads and you then went very quiet.

You're on my ignore list from now on, my friend.

Clearly looking at failure rates was too difficult, or someone is dodging the humble pie.

Bless, I hope everyone else looks after Dill, you wouldn't want to risk being ignored.

How on earth does abortion prevent conception anyway?

True! I should have thought about my words more carefully.

I've never had an abortion but I know several women who have and it really isn't a question of being "cavalier" about it. None of them has regretted the decision (research shows this to be true for an overwhelming percentage of women) and none of them has suffered any ill effects. It's a simple question of a problem and a solution.

I have. And I wouldn’t wish the mental anguish it has caused me on my worst enemy. There is evidence it causes lasting harm but a lot of professionals refuse to accept that post abortion stress syndrome actually exists and deny that women suffer as a result of abortions. It does, and they do. Of course I know there are numerous people who go through it and have no regrets, but I am active on a support website for people who have had abortions and can say that often people can't predict how they will feel and a lot of people suffer as a result of their choices even if they were 100% sure of their decision at the time.

If you don’t want a child then you should do your absolute best to ensure you don’t get pregnant, for your own sake.

There are also an awful lot of people on that site who have had multiple abortions, and a lack of contraception use is the most common reason there. This is an anonymous website where people will admit their failings, it’s not the same as having a friend who has had an abortion insisting she used contraception because she is worried about being judged.
