I've just returned from a very pleasant short break in Berlin with Ryanair's 1p flights and I was really impressed by the punctuality, the fast turnaround, the amount of legroom and the general comfort on board the aircraft.

In fact, compared to most of the package holidays I've been on in the past, the whole experience was bliss! And we paid Ryanair a total of 4p!

Managed to get brilliant deals on hotel and airport parking, thanks to MSE.

I'm now hooked on budget flying and can't wait to do it all again before Gordon Brown wrecks yet another of life's little pleasures.

Really, that is unduly harsh. If they make you call a premium-rate number, surely they should answer immediately rather than making you pay to listen to irrelevant information. And charging you a pound per minute to make a payment is really not fair.

Maybe if the OP had spent a few minutes reading a little information and the T&C's rather than ignoring them he/she wouldn't have needed to ring anyone. It's clearly spelled out on the website as to what you can/can't take and what you'll be charged for.

    Well said imo.

You have to SELECT the option to take hand luggage so I dunno how this person "missed" it.

    What a pointless post.

It really is not that small. A cabin size suitcase will easily fit within the measurements.

    i agree :)

myself and hubby flew to Dublin for 2 days on the penny flights.
fitted in clothing / toiletries / straighteners :p etc for 2 days / 1 night, plus hubby took his laptop in his case

i was pleasantly surprised how much "stuff" i could take in the size / weight restriction lol

I fly with ryanair at least 20 times a year at great bargain prices.

I cannot thank Michael (O`Leary)enough for putting Europe within ordinary people`s reach at dirt cheap fares, despite Gordon Brown`s tax obsession.
He would tax fresh air if he could (and is at this moment scheming a way of doing so)

Michael is giving Joe Public what they want
    cheap flights
but he hasn`t got time to come round your house and explain his T&C`s.

HE DOES THAT VERY CLEARLY ON HIS WEBSITE

exactly alared, im sure regualr travellers know full well what an excellent airline ryanair is and the prices are just smply incredible, along with the service, ok they are one or two minor moans about silly little things, but overall michael o leary is a genius and has been a god send to the uk airline industry, its ryanair who are forcing competitors to follow its footsteps

its got to the stage now where a £40 return flight to europe seems expensive

im sure most of the knockers of ryanair are new users who get confused with the T&C and get caught out, its the same with easyjet you have to be alert when booking and remove items you dont want or you end up paying for it

remember the days of £400 plus single fares to europe with british airways, its not that long ago

    well done ryanair

I got a Thomson flight to Ams and back last week and it was nearly £50 -most of that being taxes at nearly £20 each way.
Cargo hold baggage (1 case under 20k (no excess) £3 or £6 each way can't remember).
The flights were 1p and 99p.

Why are your tickets so cheap? Are you guys not paying/including the £20 taxes each way?
    more dollar$ than sense
  • They aren't reminding you that the 1p no tax no fees whatever promotion was something we only saw from Ryanair for the first time this year and was short-lived. Don't hold your breath for another deal like that. It was plane crazy!

Yeah..it was a promotion to get people hooked I guess :rotfl: and although Ryan Air might be cheap..if they cancel your flight.. you're are screwed as with other companies they try to fix you a new flight. You get what you pay for!
:D *If you like the advice I give...let me know by clicking the THANKS button* :D
  • you can get £20 return flights with ryanair now, yes maybe the gimmick of 1p flights might not re-appear but dirt cheap prices seem to be always around

Actually it has to be said that Ryanair are generally punctual (except when they cancel completely of course and leave an airport full of stranded peeps!). One other 'good'(?) thing...if on the day you fly your punctuality doesn't quite match theirs, you miss the check-in or gate before closing, and you don't have another 1p contingency booking for the next flight, then when you arrive panic-stricken back at the Ryanair Information Desk you can still pretty much rely on the charge for that seat on the next one...

yep you guessed it...that magic fifty quid again does the trick :D

Edit: ynot, do you happen to know if those £10 all-in flights include credit card charges? The 1p ones did of course :D ... loved seeing those on my credit card statement ... the price of the ink and paper must've been more than that!
