Yesterdays totals- 75g of celery that I stuffed with chocolate spread for an instant brekkie :D
Vegetable omlette for lunch with 3 portions in, onion 85g, kale 55g and 124g of mushrooms
Sweet potato topped shepherds pie which I'd bulked out with onions, mushrooms, spring onions, cabbage, spinach and lentils. I'd estimate that my serving would have been 4 servings.

    So 8 servings. Not bad.

Breakfast: BLT. I actually weighed out 80g of lettuce, which is a LOT. I had to take most off and eat it before I ate my sandwich... I do not recommend it. Almost put myself off it, and I like iceberg :rotfl:
Lunch: I wasn't actually hungry hungry. I ate a few slices of ham and then a banana.
Dinner: Cottage pie, made with onions, mushrooms, green beans, carrots, sweetcorn and peas, topped with regular potatoes, carrots and swede and served with broccoli. Estimating 5 portions.

Yesterday I had salad for lunch - veg count was portions each of lettuce, tomato and cucumber followed by an orange.

Dinner was the same as the night before... taco mince, sweet potato wedges, spicy beans, sweetcorn and grated carrot, maybe another portion between lettuce, spring onion and some chopped peppers.

    Total today was 8:1.

Yesterday was blueberries for breakfast, then lunch was frittata made with peppers, onion, courgette, sweet corn and spinach with a salad of tomato, lettuce and radish. 5 portions of veg, one fruit. No time for another meal.

Am away from home one so it'll be interesting to see how I get on...
  • Think dinner yesterday probably had a good amount of "servings" just on its own. Runner beans (given to me), tomatoes, onion, garlic as the basis for a sauce on top of courgetti (courgette given to me). Followed by blackcurrants and wild strawberries (from my own garden).

Just started the day with blackberries with my porridge...
  • Having the grandkids here mean fast meals they will eat, I'm too busy to be stressing about getting them to eat food they don't like

Saying that, they are getting their 5 a day, they had banana at breakfast, Apple in tescos, sweet corn, tomato and cucumber for tea and melon for dessert

I had a salad which was around 3 portions , I couldn't manage the corn on the cob

It's if I'm eating out that I have problems-many pubs and restaurants don't serve a lot of veg with their meals. I rarely risk ordering salad as I hate raw onion and most salads seem to contain it these days-if I remove it I can still taste it.

I cannot digest raw onion, like my father and my son, although I love the taste but I find everywhere these days just has to add it to an otherwise acceptable salad. I prefer it in Indian and Bangla restaurants where onion (chopped with mint) is served separately and you can please yourself. If by chance I eat onion I will feel quite ill and have unfortunate repercussions. Cooked onion fortunately doesn't have the same effect and I can eat as much as I want.

Have you asked them not to put any onion on? Just wondering whether you've had several experiences of asking - and they've nodded in agreement, but you found your request had been ignored and there was that onion on the salad - again....

If a request got ignored - would it work to take all the onion off and leave it on a sideplate - or would you still feel ill from the traces of it having been there?

I often forget as I am not expecting to get a salad with the dish I have ordered. Sometimes I am told that it's already prepared so I just avoid the whole salad garnish just in case. I have been known to pick every last bit off, and can still taste it, but there are no bad effects unless I eat the raw solid bits. I wonder if it's a sulphur sensitivity?

    Friday evening:j

I just had dinner - rice, fish, ratatouille 350g and a huge portion of kale.
The ratatouille had aubergine, courgette, onion, carrot, pepper, garlic, tomatoes.

Planning on a banana, orange and apple later.

    Totals today: 5:2
