Pleased I managed 5 at lunchtime as this evening has been rather chaotic. Veggie burger (1) with runner beans (2). I also have some peppers, onion, garlic, spinach and sweetcorn cooking which I will use for a spanish omelette tomorrow, but might have a bit after my veggie burger if it's ready.
I'm also going to have some olives with a drink later as I have late meetings.0 -

I had leftover kale and carrot warmed through with sweetcorn and toasted pine nuts dressed with vinaigrette for lunch - twas very yummy and counted for three portions of veg.
This evening we had taco mince to which I added 250g courgette and 200g onion/garlic for four portions, so one good serving of veg in the meat part of the dinner. With it we had sweet potato wedges, spicy mixed beans and salad. Lettuce 60g plus 10g spring onion will do as a rough portion, good portion each of tomato, cucumber, grated carrot and more sweetcorn (which I guess I can't count as I had them at lunchtime). I also had a banana...
Total for today was 9:0I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Like this idea for a thread!
Yesterday, I had:
Breakfast: a crumpet with sliced banana, a handful of blueberries and three strawberries. 2 portions.
Lunch: Ham sandwich on a thin with heaps of coleslaw and a handful of tomatoes (some sliced on top of the coleslaw, some whole to the side). Easily 3.
Dinner: Bolognese sauce, but served with 2 inches of butternut squash cubed and roasted. Guestimating that the Bolognese had about 4 portions of veg, and then another in the squash. (I made it with 1kg of grated carrots, 500g mushrooms, 3 peppers, 4 tins chopped tomatoes, garlic and 4 big onions and served 10 portions.)
Today:
Breakfast was the same, 2 portions.
Lunch: Chicken breast with ratatouille. Probably just over 3 portions in this as well.
Dinner: Chicken paella. Probably only about a portion in this dinner!0 -

Lavendar, pansies, sunflower petals. And courgette flowers seem to have a habit of being made into fritters by tv chefs.
I've never been brave enough to actually try them though! :rotfl:0 -
Nasturtiums are peppery like watercress. You can eat the leaves and the flowers.0

No - as in using the nasturtium leaves. Though I've seen a recipe online that chucked in a few of the flower buds as well.
I've not tried it yet - but it's on the list to have a go at some time and see what I think of it.
Oh - and I've had a few courgette flowers one time when I had the chance - ie with a bit of filling in it (can't remember what - think it might have been cream cheese or summat similar?). Was nice - but not much substance to it. I would do again though if I had the chance (ie the flowers to hand).
Fingers crossed for plenty of veggie portions coming up soon from the garden - I just took a posters advice elsewhere and sprayed boiled-up rhubarb leaves onto my kale/cabbages/brussels sprouts that I hope will be providing me with some of my "greens" if the cabbage white caterpillars that have been turning them to lace have successfully been killed of by it.0 -
Courgette flowers are usually stuffed with ricotta or goats cheese. Lots of lovely recipes if you google.
Nasturtium flowers are a nice addition to salads. As are chive flowers.0 -

Well today has been a complete non-starter. I had a friend over for a late lunch and we guzzled a load of wine and after that I couldn't be bothered to eat. I had a few salad leaves but not even half a portion, including the olives I ate with the wine
Making today a 0:0 day, pretty gruesome even by my own standards :eek:Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
