                    Is this petty?
I like spraying impulse body spray on myself and I do it in our office. I work in an office with 15 other women and 2 who I sit near have complained I am spraying it. They had a word with me saying it was taking their breath and I continued doing it because I sweat a lot. They have now gone to the boss and told her about me.

Shower more? Use a roll-on? Go to another room to spray then come back?0

spraying impulse isn't going to stop you sweating
Don't spray whilst in the office - go into the bathroom (but please open a window there, that stuff lingers and tastes vile0 -

Better yet, spray before you come to work, outside the building at lunchtime if you must, and after work and don't spray indoors in communal spaces at all. If you sweat profusely use an anti perspirant and if you need to lose weight do so. You could also consider seeing your doctor for a heavy duty antiperspirant cream on prescription.
Spraying aerosols in close proximity to others is antisocial. It can cause health problems for those with asthma, allergies or impaired immune systems and if you have been told by more than one person that this is creating an unpleasant working environment then you should stop.0 -
Agree with the others here, any aerosol type sprays are antisocial when used in any environment other than your own home, outdoors or a bathroom and even worse where there is poor ventilation.
If you need help with sweating then Impulse sprays won't do anything except temporarily mask the smell of stale sweat. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Yes, this is very anti social, particularly when you've been asked to stop.
Some people are made to feel very ill by strong artificial scent.
This product is not an antiperspirant so wont stop sweating, and masking body odour in this way just layers one unpleasant smell on another.
If you have excessive perspiration there are products available on prescription.

Exactly that...0 -

And not on prescription. Anhydrol forte / Driclor can be bought at chemists and on sites such as eBay, and is very effective. Assuming, of course, that you have discussed this with your GP and eliminated any possible health conditions as being responsible.0 -

Although I have a similar problem and know how difficult it is, I don't think think that it's petty because the office is a communal place and the scent of body sprays often linger in the air.Alison1981 wrote: »Is this petty?

As mentioned above, I have a similar problem but never spray in the building because I don't sit near a window and the toilets don't have a window, either.
Perhaps these would help you - this is what I do:
(Apologies if these seem over the top. I am very particular about personal hygiene)
* always try to buy cotton clothes. Always look at the label before buying tops. I have always found that I sweat more when wearing acrylic or viscose tops so I avoid buying them altogether. i only wear cotton and/or polyester tops. You can buy loads from primark
* wear something else during your journey to work. Once you have arrived at work, go into the toilets and take off your top and wash yourself and wash your armpits. Lol. Sorry to be explicit! If this is not possible then stand in the cubicle and use wet wipes. Then wear a new top. (At work, I only ever wear my trusted stretchy t-shirt tops from primark and have a spare top in my bag, just in case.) At lunchtime, if you feel hot then go and wash yourself. I suffered a lot, but one day decided to bring spare clothes with me to work to change in to, and found that changing tops really does help.
* I have found that spraying plain water on my armpits (...again, sorry for the awkward wording!) cools me down, and stops me from sweating. This all depends on the layout of your office and how visible you are. If nobody can really see you then spraying water might help you as well. If you go to a shop such as Boots, you can buy any cheapo spray bottle that has something else inside it. You can empty the contents and use the bottle for your water-spraying purposes!:EasterBun0 -
All of the above ^^^ and esp post No. 9.
Seriously, someone spraying a deodorant about is not nice... My lady wife does it in the bathroom which is fine. BUT when I am in bed, and she forgets to shut the bedroom door AND the bathroom door, I'm gagging on it. Luckily, this occurs probably no more than once a month, and she doesn't do it on purpose.
It is very anti social and inconsiderate. Do it in the loo. As some have said though, it's not gonna stop you sweating or smelling. You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Apparently for really extreme cases botox injections can be given in the arm pits.
I'm told celebrities have them before red carpet events to stop sweat stains showing on their clothes.
