No. You agreed a price - you got your cornflakes. At no point were you guaranteed or promised a particular brand.

So a 50p own brand substitution will be charge the same as Kelloggs at £2 for example.
Makes good profit for Tesco, hell just substitute all brands for own brands and clean up.

I know the answer,a return / rejection but we're a far cry from cornflakes and tescos on this thread.

You started the poor analogy, not me.

You agreed to pay £2 for cornflakes. You got cornflakes. End of.

Of course not. But you are comparing apples and oranges in a febble attempt to defend your shockingly poor analogy.

You paid for a service, you got the service you paid for.

I think you would do well to read posts #18 & #20 by leylandsunaddict and bagand96.

But if you want to try to get some form of refund and it's not going to cost you a fortune in calls, let us know how you got on.

Poor analogy, you missed the irony and sarcasm in the original analogy.

Now its a service, i got which I paid for, seems you've shyed away price / brand comparison now.

I have taken all on board.

AFAIK / Google searching shows plenty with the same gripe.

Its all in the T+C's and they are obligated to inform prior via email or at the desk.

Regarding the IFE, its limited to a number of aircraft,to which again they email you up front.

Its not a new practice with Monarch either, they've been doing this for quite a few yrs.

Would I use them again yes,but they'd have to be the cheapest option from now on.

    Case closed...

    Whinger...thanks

As for the crew, Latvians I think.

You totally missed the point, quite apt for some who hates football.

No I'm not missing the point, airlines use lease aircraft, especially charter airlines which is basically what Monarch are, there are many valid reasons for this, including cover for aircraft needing to be taken out of service for maintanance or aircraft going technical, maybe you'd be happier if your flight was delayed or cancelled due to one of these reasons because then you'd moan that the airline had done nothing to resolve the situation. Likewise it's common for scheduled airlines to share aircraft, a work colleague of mine just back from New York, his flights from Birmingham to JFK were with British Airways, the aircraft was an American Airlines 757 the flight was operated on behalf of BA, Virgin and AA so 3 airlines 1 plane.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

"Case closed" - Does that mean you're not going to contact Monarch tomorrow?

I didn't know about the bit in bold.

You could post on the Air Travel board on Tripadvisor and see if you get different opinions (although I don't think you will). :)

As aircraft are subject to change even if they email about IFE you may not get the facility. They only operate short flights so IFE is hardly important.

It's not a new practice, and it's not unusual either. Monarch are far from the only airline that leases aircraft from other airlines.

    Their T&Cs state
"To the best of our knowledge all our published information is correct at the time of publication. It does not commit any of the carriers/independent organisations mentioned or any Operating Carrier whose services may be used by us in the course of any Flights."

Monarch fulfilled their contract with you.
