Probably not, and I'm barking up the wrong tree challenging the IFE option.
I'll ponder my next move as I munch thru Tesco own brand cornflakes,i ordered Kelloggs, but Tesco feel fit to supply me own brand ,but charge me Kelloggs price.
You ordered cornflakes from Tesco. They are within their T&C to give you their own brand or Kellogg's branded. You still got your cornflakes.Legal team on standby0 -
You paid £120 more because they have an app that let's you pay to watch IFE? Insane!0

As long as they transported you from A to B at the appropriate time then they have delivered what they are contracted to do.
The fact that you didn't get IFE is not a significant change to the contract that would warrant any sort of compensation.0 -

Its probably buried in t+c's but if I'd been given an inkling at the booking stage that I may end on smartlynx,i wouldn't have booked.
I've no issue if there had been a faulty plane etc and had to use smartlynx.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -
You're clutching at straws. No where does it say they guarantee you will fly on a Monarch aircraft, just the same as no airline guarantees the carrier. The same goes for aircraft type and seat numbers. They're all subject to change. You weren't misled over price. The contract is to fly you from A-B.0

You got on a plane operated by SmartLynx that transported you from origin to destination in a safe and timely fashion.
You'd have got exactly the same on a Monarch operated aircraft. The Smartlynx A320 is a type that Monarch have in their own fleet in a pretty much identical configuration.
The only difference you can put your finger on seems to be a tatty cabin. Well Monarch have aircraft older than the Smartlynx one. And a Monarch aircraft may well have been equally as tatty.
I'm stunned anyone would pay £120 more to fly Monarch over Ryanair/easyJet. There's very little to pick between the services the 3 provide.0
