    Very satisfying.

However the filthy looks from the other patrons while my 2 smallest lobbed half bricks in (carefully, but with squeals of delight and laughter) was nearly enough to ruin it.

To be truthful, my lot would stand chucking stones in the sea for eternity and never get bored.

    Today's re-invention project.
You need a firm foundation to make a change that lasts.
    Yep, knicker shopping!!!

I have my birthday money - cheque cleared today.
So a little bit of clothes shopping is on the cards.
Sadly I am a rubbish clothes shopper, and often come home minus bus fare and the cost of a coffee. Today I am on a mission.

Plus a c/s trawl. Just for fun.

    Charity shop trawl went well.

Got a four tops for me, 2 shirts for DH, 3 pairs of shorts for DS1 & 2. Offloaded my seasalt socks onto DS2 as well, bought digital scales (£9.99) and a few dishes to bake things in. A cork notice board pinboard thing, and then came home for lunch and got sucked into the football.

This morning I went off to town and did the market, managed to find one bra that fit (reduced from £22 to £10), I tried on 4 bras of the same size, and only one fit. I tried one in a bigger size - different style-, and it seemed smaller than the smaller ones. It's a blimmin minefield!

I have never jst been able to just buy a bra in my size. They all have to be tried on. Nightmare. So I picked up a couple of (reduced) pairs of matching knickers, and £16 later I have blue underwear that matches.

Next payday I will return and see if I can get a nice black one to go with my other underwear. Or check out local 0xfam - who do clearance for M&S, lots of new things at a fraction of the cost.
I buy DH 100% linen shirts, for work, brand new, for £5.99.
He managed to break a tooth in his sleep, so he will be off to the dentists again on Monday. He is very grumpy, Luckily it was one of the ones they stripped the nerve from so at least he is not in pain.

Soft food on the menu again!

Well all this heat is great for getting the washing dry, and not using the heating, and not needing to heat the water as hot, but I am getting nothing done.

I get the kids to school, do a bit of emergency shopping (usually only one or two , items, so relatively low spend) get home full of good intentions and flake out due to heat, pollen or headaches. Rouse myself for the odd half hour, and then collapse again until picking up time, but with the after school clubs and dropping kids back at the house, it turns into the best part of 90 odd minutes sat in a sweltering car and by 4.30 I just want to lie naked on the sofa and read. Sadly, I cannot do this as a) I got rid of the net curtains in the living room, b) it would totally freak the kids out, and annoyingly, c) they seem to need feeding at regular intervals .

We are down to 6 drinking glasses again (???) They all swear blind they do not have any in their bedrooms. The glasses fairy must have been past again.

I will finish another book tonight.

DS1 had a great time on his D of E, although they had to start walking on Sunday at 5am as the leaders realised the England match started at 1, and they wanted to be back in time for it. So pickup was nearly 2 hours early. He was not a lobster this time.

I am envious of men who can walk about without their tops on.

DH made a delicious fried tofu and monks' vegetables for supper tonight. Masses of veg. hooray! I washed up and they had chocolate cake for pud.

High school has announced no blazers or ties for the last 3 weeks of school as the temp is too high, and they have reassessed the uniform requirements. Eldest 2 very happy about this.

So now we are into the last week of June. Payday on Friday.
I have to get some of the stuff off the list done. My motivation is melting into a puddle of apathy in this heat. But this heat is due to continue for the next 2 weeks or so. We had 27 today, the same forecast for tomorrow, and 30+ on Wednesday.

I just need to get on with it!

I did go to B&Q and got a few testers, but that and a tidy around the house was about all I achieved today. Will do better tomorrow.

My right arm freckles are browner than my left.

    I am white van man!

And they are not called freckles anymore, they are called skin blemishes or skin discolouration!!!

Strangely enough, I will not be buying that beauty product.

I do wonder if there is a fake tan for redheads.
I mean it would probably have to be more pine than mahogany, but if I get my legs out I might blind someone with the reflection from the sun.
Ooops, I almost sounded like a girl there.

As a fellow redhead, I have thought about that before, but have come to the conclusion that being orange head to toe might not be the best look for me :rotfl:

Driving past the schools at least twice a day, I am always shocked by the tanned legs of 12 + year old girls with white arms and necks.

They must keep their top halfs under shade, while their legs are in the sun...... in November.

That is how is works isn't it?

Righty ho, and off we go!

The doorframes have all been filled and look good on the top two floors. Went around with filler and corrected every single thing that needed doing.

Painted the stair rods again, and have started on the skirting boards that were missed last time. Improvement great and practically immediate.

I am now at the top of the stairs leading to the front door (I am working from the top down).

Rejigged my master list of everything and made a sub-list of a room by room hit list. There are no bedrooms that have more than 3 jobs on them.
I can get on with doing these jobs over the school summer holidays.

Went on fakebook for the first time in ages - my friend is in New York and she is posting lovely touristy stuff, not 'whoooo look at me !!' type stuff, more like - 'ooh, I just saw this, found this, loved this' type thing. And then popped up a lady selling her cast iron victorian fireplace - the twin of the one in the front room, so it is going in my back room. I pick it up this afternoon. Matching fireplaces! how fab is that!

    Paid car tax £140.

Bought ferry ticket to Ireland. Will do the relatives and be done with it. I come back on 1st August, so will have the whole of August to not have to do it and I can plan things to please ourselves. Sometimes it is better to just swallow the frog. Then it can frog off.

Found a football session for the kids throughout the whole summer holidays. 2 hrs a day for £1 each. Will book the 2 smallest on to it, they are football mad anyway and it is practically at the bottom of the road. I might even meet someone who could become a friend. Who knows?

So today is taken up with bedding to be laundered. In this heat I am doing it every 2 weeks, which I still think is probably utterly filthy of me (sorry- I am sure cleaning gurus recommend you do it weekly). Great that it is getting line dried and back on the beds in a day.

Fixed a dodgy doorknob with WD40 and the same on a squeaky gate.

Shunted a sly £72 to the mortgage overpayments as I got a £50 Y0uG0v payout and some survey cashouts and I just had an untidy bank account, so I Tilly tidied it round to the nearest 0.00 and off it went.

Now I have to wait to find out the monthly interest charged and if it went down from last month.

Aiming to bring the mortgage down to £104,999,99 when it updates after DH's payment goes out.

Looking forward to working out the daily interest too.

Might take DS3 and DS4 to The Greatest Showman tomorrow, it is on at 0deon kids club - £2.50 a ticket.

Hair cuts for the kids today. ha ha ha. snip snip!
