F0xh0les - I'm delurking to ask what wild and crazy thing you want to do? Do tell......If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters1
-
I have no idea, I was a single parent for the weekend, and again yesterday.
I wanted to do something totally off the wall, utterly self destructive, probably morally reprehensible, but was let down by lack of childcare:rotfl:
Oh well, Rio will no doubt still be there next year,
Has anyone been on a cruise?
There are very few of my 'gang' who had kids.
Most are still single, or single again after marrying nutjobs (for less than a year). They were all financially totally irresponsible, ended up on iva's even though they had well paying jobs and very generous parents. They just spent too much, totally by choice, on what they wanted, as soon as they wanted it.
Now they are all totally flush as they did their 5 year stint, and within a year of them ending, , got loads of ppi back.
So they are all off on guided tours of Central America, or Snow shoeing in Iceland to see the Northern Lights.
And to be honest, I am feeling a bit jealous. Not that I would swap my smalls for a 4 week holiday (honest), but apart from relative visiting, I don't seem to have really been anywhere foreign and exciting. Well, I went to the Dominican Republic 25+ years ago for 7 days. That was the last time.
It is that time of year isn't it? Everyone is talking about where they are off to for 2 weeks over summer. I can't even do sportsday without hiding under a tree!! What am I thinking? More summer madness.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I have been on several cruises too but not until the kids were all off hand. Stick with it I think you already live a wild and crazy life. Sounds good to me anyway. All that clutter used to be money1

The kids are growing up, it has been so much more noticeable since Christmas.
The eldest two are now typical teenagers (velcroed to their mattresses), the other two are 8 and 10. So in just about one year I will have 3 in secondary school. Although DS3 & 4 still come for cuddles in bed in the morning, the other two are less huggy and I seem to be just a car driving wallet to them.
I will most probably be re-entering the job market around that time too.
In which case, as long as I earn over £35.66 a week (child tax amount), we will be better off.
Anyway...
Solstice Blessings to all you and yours.
Enjoy the sunshine today, because tomorrow the nights are drawing in.
I miss the days when I could watch the sunrise from a henge.
Mock GCSE's do not observe the sabbats.
I have buds on my courgettes!! sorry, bit random
Today is a good day to re-evaluate my role in the household.
I will always be Mum, but they do not need me they way they did before.
I must re-invent myself as a person - beginning today.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done you. I wish I'd been so aware of a changing role when my two were allegedly maturing. Instead I just drifted.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. f0xh0les I need your DIY assistance...the toilet seat I ordered didn't fit - apparently standard size varies across toilets and it's a few cm too short vs the one there. It sits ok but back from the lip of the bowl - not so much its in danger of trapdooring anyone down the pan, but enough that it looks cheap and mean - so that needs to go back  #firstworldproblemsFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Who knew???
I mean it is a blimmin' toilet seat!
Like floorboards and light bulbs, they just can't help themselves, they have to tinker about with it and make different sizes.
!!!!!! !
I feel your pain kerri gt.

I know, so annoying, I have measured it thrice over to make sure a) it is not my eyesight b) check whether by some miracle an inert piece of plastic might have grown by a couple of cm.
However, since I took the old one off and then had the joy of putting it back on, it does mean I've been able to tighten everything up to stop it wobbling ...if only it were that easy with everything eh? :rotfl:
There is something incredibly satisfying about throwing breakable stuff, or just any stuff into those big bins at the tip isn't thereFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
