This is very not on.   His mum had a 6 man inflatable raft on top of her bedroom wardrobe when I first met her, so I know where this is heading.

This had me chortling into my tea this morning. I grew up in a rather similar house.
    Genius!

He knocked up two Hawaiian shirts in William Morris print last weekend (pleats on the back and everything!) and has now decided to make himself trousers and a waistcoat and retailor an old suit jacket.   I taught him to use a sewing machine,  but he far surpasses me now.  I do curtains and cushions, and mending and hemming.   He buys patterns! and swears a lot at button loops.  Basically there is a Victorian lady in there somewhere, cooing over lace, buttons, and ribbons.  It is his latest obsession.
How fabulous. I would get my order in !
I am doing a sewing class at present and loving it but not yet ready to start patterns I buy
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

With the current weather this could become desirable [says the woman who lived with 2 spare wheels and a car door in the spare room for many months 🙄]

When there is a restoration in full swing here, I end up with almost every panel, radiators, suspension struts, wiring looms, wing mirrors, bow hoops, etc etc in the house to allow the paint to ‘cure’ properly! I draw the line at using dishwashers to clean out engine blocks though and no parts are allowed in the house until they are non oily, cleaned and repainted!
