I love my halfiax app. I have a different account set up for each of my money pots (xmas, bday holiday etc) and really easy to tfr the money from one to the other. They have let me open many accounts with themMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

All you need is a copy of your dad's birth certificate - which you can do online via the GRO NI. site - you need his name, d.o.b and vague location, they will find it for you, I had the wrong county!, and all you need is his name on your long birth cert. Job done, you can apply for a passport. If you went through the grandfather you would still need dad's birth cert, then grandpa's birth cert as well, and at £17 a copy, just get a certified copy of your Dad's birth certificate. Much simpler. Of course if it were your Mum, you would have to fork out for a marriage cert as well (grrr!). My certs came from NI in less than a week.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The End of April Financial StatementOkay Financial Stuff Update:£50k Premium Bonds (Draw 1 (April) £50)£20k in 1 year ISA @ 3.7% interest to be paid annually (March 24)£40k in Renovations fund (£36 monthly interest)I have hit all my savings targets, I am where I wanted to be. No debts. No mortgage.DH has some savings, sub £10k, but that is because he spends his money like water. Good job he has a sensible wife with a superficial air of bonkers and doolally for the general public. The fools!I have £2200 coming in from housekeeping /work/ switching bonus/ child benefit in May but I have a cc bill of just over £800 (£625 just for the 4 day trip to Ireland) and £200 going out into the kids regular savers account. Last £70 instalment for DS4's school camp trip in June also goes out.Really interested to see what the energy use will be this month after the surprise 25% increase in usage last month (gods how dull does that make me sound? Will find myself listening to Radio 3 at this rate! )Dates for DH's conferences in June all finalised and travel and hotels booked by the organisers so he will not be chasing them for months for expenses, 3 months for plane ticket reimbursement is just not on.A level Exam dates in the diary, mock GCSE dates in the diary, school holiday dates in the diary, DH's marking deadlines in the diary, my work dates for July in the diary, Dr appointment for HRT consult in the diary - rang yesterday, have an appointment on Tuesday pm. Yay NHS! Yay GPs!So I think I know what I am doing in May - no big bills, all insurances paid.

Yay to the ease of identity theft (bonkersly easy wasn't it??) when you think of all the info out there in the public domain already.Boo! to banking still only being a 5 day a week business. I got my £75 training pay today (whoop! whoop!) but housekeeping will not go in until Tuesday 2nd because of weekends and bank holidays (grrrr!) also no ground rent has appeared in the Spring run of payments (what other business says you will be paid 'in Spring' and 'in Autumn' ?) it is sub £100, but still a week's worth of groceries.Irish bank account is fully operational, money transferred in, should get my next £200 in 7 days. Had a read of The Shanghai Bank, and I have not had a current account with it since 2020, so I think that could be my next victim. I will then have to sit with it until another bank offers a bribe, but I do so hate The Shanghai Bank and all who sail in it. They refuse to admit I am who I am. Utterly frustrating. I quite fancy ending up with the WideNati0n bank, but no bribes for them at the moment. Nice to have a plan though. I am aiming for £1000 switcher's bonus this calendar year. When I was doing our family tree I got all sorts of certs very easily. All was fine until I tried to get my great, great grandmas. She was born in Germany well before 1900. The only way was to get it in person & wham we were in lockdown. So that got shelved. Another great great was born in S Ireland but there is much less info on him. That isn't even where the red hair came from.
