I have a proposed completion date of 22nd August. How flippin' exciting is that!!The Estate Agent just emailed to ask if it was acceptable. The Estate Agent is on the ball, the solicitors are rubbish.Grrr to the whole business. So, in the next thrilling instalment of 'what came out of the freezer today??', I made a pasta saag-bonara - it was a carbonara with a bag of spinach lobbed in it - (not) bacon lardons, spinach, and corn (they like it!) all went out of the freezer.Tomorrow I am doing a saag keema with naan bread, and there will be banana milk shakes to get rid of the froze bananasI am back to 13 stone 1lb, so had a very small breakfast of overnight oats, and a salad wrap for lunch. Did 2 shifts at the f/bank.Small shop of £8 for essentials - onions, tinned tomatoes, tinned chick peas, passata, fruit cordial, wraps.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The freezer emptying is going well, sausages and unicorns and one hash brown ( 6 when I left, I came back there was 1) gone at lunch time -Sad to see s/g's furniture go under the hammer on the online auction last night. I think I have about £200 so far, and more will go under the hammer tonight - really surprised at the tiny amounts that silver jewellery goes for at auction! Not that I was selling any, but still, wow! that is where I will be buying any in future. Looking at probably around £300 for my inheritance after all fees paid. Still it is not to be sniffed at, and it is money that I did not have before.Contacted the solicitor and Estate Agent to tell them that the 22nd is a Monday, and to ask if the buyer would not prefer to complete on the Friday so everyone can move over the weekend. I remember watching one of those ' secrets of the trade' programmes and remember that companies like to do things like this on a Monday so that the money sits in their bank accounts over the weekend. The interest adds up quickly when large sums are involved. So that is hopefully in the pipeline.Laundry drying on the line, and I have moved a lot of plants from where they were living in pots into the raised beds and planters, now that other things have died or not done as well as hoped. They will either thrive, or not. I will feed them at the weekend and see if they still love me. Much like the kids
.
Supper will be a 'pick a plate' mystery. We have a few leftovers in the fridge to be used up. The freezer is mostly only full of veggie mince and bananas and chilli peppers.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good news on the extra pennies from the auction bits & a completion date finally being thrown about.
I presume the Solicitors have been put back in their box over the ridiculous stalling questions (buyers conveyancer last time avoided everyone for a good 6 weeks then suddenly popped up and asked if my solicitor had verified my identity, the rest of us had closed out enquiries and wanted to talk dates!) & barmy insulation query, which smacked of them following the new build tick list
I completed on a Monday last time which gave peace of mind that if anything went wrong the following day was a working day to be able to resolve things rather than being stuck over a weekend so there are positives and negatives to both (I eventually got my keys at 4.50pm when the movers had been told by their boss to go home at 4.30 but said they would wait around till 5 so it could have been truly messy if I hadn't got the keys and it had been a Friday), my first house I completed on a Wednesday or Thursday so all days of the week are a possibility.
How you're not sitting your Mr 1-4 down to advise that Mr Somebody & Mr Nobody are being inconsiderate household members & to rein it in (& to pay for a new freezer shelf) I don't know, you have so much restraint. Maybe lacing Mr Somebodies favourite treats with laxatives would chase him out- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Well done on the auction pennies, at least SG items are going to a new home and not the tip or a bonfire.
We completed on a Thursday - I actually have no idea why, was just the date we (only us buyers and the sellers involved) ageeed on. I seem to vaguely recall it worked for the sellers due to kids half term for them moving to a new area.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Things seem to be progressing, that is all I am focussing on.The solicitors seem to have inefficiency down to a fine art....which I simply cannot stand. You can understand why these things can drag on and on, if the client does not keep on their case.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

All good on the certification front, they sent it this morning so I have forwarded it to the solicitor and solicitor's secretary.Nothing left to stand in the way, so I have informed the EA, who will be on to the buyer to be on to his solicitor, to agree and get a completion date.Had to bite the bullet and redo s/g house insurance, lovely man on the phone took payment, put a note on the file to only bill me for the days it covers (probably less than 5 days) and to waive the cancellation fee due to my circumstances, he reckons it will cost me about £3 for the policy after I cancel. But I cannot be without it.The sun is shining, DS4 has made pasties for lunch (ys ready made pastry, but hey, he wanted to cook, he cooked).Made DS3 and DS4 try on school uniform to see what we need, so far DS4 needs trousers - he has a belly on him - they both need 1 x new PE hoodies and 2 x PE shirts, DS3 needs trainers and DS4 needs a new tie. So might have change of £100Fingers crossed.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
