The Caribbean fruitcake is in the oven. Will check on it in 2 hours.

Most of the kitchen has been cleaned - probably another half hour will have it sorted - just not right now.

DS3 and DS4 now have fluffy soft duvet covers and winter duvets on their beds. The advent calendars are full, and hanging off the stair rails on the top floor, and on cup hooks on the back of DS2s bedroom door.  He is being a troll and is best left in his cave.  His bedding was changed and he has new pillows. 

Tomorrow I will tidy my room and clean the bathrooms. Get my booster jab, and if it wipes me out (like it has a lot of people I know - for no clearly apparent reason, they were fine for the other two) then there are 2 large pizzas in the freezer ready to be deployed for supper.   No fuss food.

The living room needs a good clean, and the tree needs to go up, and some twinkly lights will go on,  and I have to ring DS1 to make sure he is alright. 

Sunday we have two Xmas street fairs to go to, and football at 2pm - still have not managed to do the wander around town looking at the lights at 5pm. Good job we still have another   3 weeks to go.

Still not been paid. They are looking into it - said the email I got at 7.20 this morning.

I have transferred £250 to DH for some presents for the kids, it had been earmarked for Xmas, and now it is spent - I think now we are about done for DS3 and DS4. I may need to buy a dartboard (DH thinks I am nuts - but you have to have controlled danger in life, don't you?).

Not much has actually been achieved yet today - 3 of us have been jabbed, much tea has been drunk, some laundry has been done and that is about it.   Recycling sorted and bagged, bin out - needed to put a bag in the bin for the first time in 13 days.  Not sure what is happening, but since DS1 moved out we have drastically reduced the amount of food we are cooking, and the amount of recycling and rubbish we produce.  It can't all have been him!!

Much research was done for  the boys presents,  presents were bought online, discount codes used = £65 saved,  I think I will be tied to the house a lot next week waiting in for deliveries, so I can decorate the house then, while remaining in the living room listening out for the front door.  DH is wavering about going for the work Xmas lunch on Wednesday. He is now triple vaxxed and twice post-covid, he sanitizes and wears a mask - there is nothing else he can do unless I start to push him around in a perspex case.  I hope he does go for his own sanity.

Wrote a card to step-gran  - she is depressed!!!!

Spoke to step-gran on the phone - an envelope I sent her (and had weighed and measured in the P.O. to make sure)  suddenly did not have enough postage on it so she had to use £1.50 of the free stamps I sent her to get the recycled, unwanted and unloved, charity calendar delivered,  and she does not like it - the dogs are too dark .  She was determined to grumble about everything today, including the pheasant that has started coming into her garden and eating the bird seed (she wants it dead - apparently it is too greedy )

2 small plastic trees (3 feet tall) have been fluffed up into tree shapes ready for DS3 and DS4 to take them up to their rooms.

I have plums, oranges, bananas, blueberries and pineapple rings that need to be used asap.  Thinking of a plum and orange compote, and a pineapple upside down cake.  The bananas make good muffins with the blueberries, but I might do a traybake with them as they can double as breakfast and lunchbox fodder that way.

I have run out of potatoes, so am trying to do without until Monday (shopping day) and so all I can think of is potato based dishes.

Tonight it is home made bread, hummus, salad and pickles, tomorrow will be mango lassi overnight oats, some kind of pasta, and possibly a curry and rice.  Oh, and I have a celeriac to consume too - did one last night as baked fingers, with cumin, coriander, and chilli powder, it was very nice and does not count as a carbohydrate in the world of dieting.  Not that I am dieting. I should be, but I am not.  So there.

Have not bought any biscuits this week, nor mice pies, nor ice cream, and the weight I lost whilst working has stayed off, despite my activity levels dropping.   I have just bought a F&F railcard though (with 10% off) for £27, but it does mean that YHA membership will now cost me £5 through their offers page rather than the £26 odd it usually is.

My lists are getting longer. I still have not been paid..    Ten school days left (well, 9.5 as the last day ends at 12.20).

Wrapping paper has been located in the Xmas suitcase, along with sellotape and labels.

Must remember to ask DS4 what kind of birthday cake he wants this year.

Definitely need a dartboard.  Being able to play darts is a life skill, on a level with being able to play poker even if not for money.

The one and only time i got a bullseye was playing darts in my cousins garage as a kid / teen. We were taking it in turns to turn our backs to the board and throw the darts over our shoulder...because what could possibly go wrong with that lol! Anyway, i got a bully. No speedboat though.

Maple roasted plums took care of the plums (with cinnamon yoghurt)

Still have the celariac, pineapple (2 rings went on a pizza last night), oranges, and bananas to turn into something edible.

Today is the day we have to start waiting in for parcels - 2 switches are coming at some point and the delivery man knocks and runs, leaving the parcel leaning up against the door in full view of anyone passing.

Paid the cc down to £100, because the car service and MOT is on Friday and I might as well get the S&M points from it.

Still not been paid.  That would have taken care of the car.  Oh well, if not last month, then this month. I hope.   Not had another email from them - I am assuming they are embarrassed and it will turn up whenever they run December payroll.
