Is Endeavour on between 8 & 10 on 3 on Sunday & Vigil 9 til 10 on 1.  If so ......watch Endeavour on 3 between 8 & 9, then Vigil on 1 between 9 & 10, then Endeavour again between 10 & 11 on 34 (channel 3 + 1)  Can you tell I've done this before?

If Endeavour is on then I am not switching channels!!

Vigil is fine on i-player and then I can cast it from the laptop to the tv at my  leisure.  I am sure there use to be a ITV+1+1 channel didn't there?  Positive there was, but that was back in the days of Telewest and cable tv.  When dinosaurs roamed the earth and volcanoes erupted every Thursday.

Oh My Flippin' Life!!  I am currently sitting here  laughing at m-i-l.  Poor DH looks like he is about to erupt. He has even gone a funny colour.

You remember The MiL Saga, she was coming at half term so we were not to go away, not coming at half term, coming at half term, then not coming, and then coming again?  Remember that mil?   Well, I told dh to ask her when it was that she was thinking of coming, so I can  at least make plans, and she says 'when is half term in November anyway?', so she had no idea when it was, but thought arguing with  DH about when it was, was a better idea than admitting it.   Then asked if he was going away anywhere.

He is going to be lecturing at least 4 days a week!! When is he supposed to go away?  then she tells him he has to start living again, she could be dead next week, and so she has gone back to normal and can live her life as she has been double jabbed. 

DH told her that DS1 is moving out before half term, so he will not be here,  but she is going to London (not to visit the Queen, said Alice) anyway to visit The Pregnant One.  

And then, she says - Oh, we'll stay in DS1's bedroom as he is not going to be in it it will save us some money, and we don't really have much time to organise anything if Half Term is so early this year.   The thing is, it is always DS1s birthday on that Half Term, and whereas she does not give a stuff about any of my other kids, she always wants to see DS1 around his.  

She just says things without thinking of the consequences.   

I do not think she had any intention of coming over, she was just saying it to wind him up and try and make him feel bad.  So now she has dates, the ball is in her court. 

DH now only looks like he might explode, not have an aneurysm, so at least there is progress in that area.

I think you'd better give your DH a large drink. Or some chocolate. Or both.

Oh I'm so glad that my inlaws have moved away without any intention of visiting ever again.   Lovely people, at a distance but my goodness I don't miss the game playing and emotional visiting blackmail.

sorry F0xh0les I have some strange comedy visions of the inlaws turning up when DS1 happens to be home for a visit (aka mum do my washing trip) & it becoming some old person vs teenager stand off about whos getting the bedroom

I do think that some (no, loads and loads) treat the first born male as a 'little lord' (Osha G.O.T popped into my head), and the older the generation, is the worse it gets.

I have a FIL who is an angel, and a MIL who is the devil incarnate, MIL is banned from my house (Mr Pepper is secretly happy with this) as they both cause him stress.  

'She just says things without thinking of the consequences'  maybe the fuse in the on / off switch blew years ago.... well it did with my mother. 

I don't think she will turn up... just another trumpy gas cloud.

F0xh0les you really do need to find some time to pen a sit com script detilling this. BBC would prob never allow it these days as too un pc I'm sure but maybe NetFlix might pick it up 🙂

Could have beeb worse...at least MIL didn't suggest they could bunk in with DS1 in his halls in London to save them some cash!

Broke the news to DS1 that he would have his grandma in his bed soon - his face was priceless, and in a deep monotone, with furrowed brow, he announced slowly, 'I am not sure I am ok with that' 'in fact, I am not sure I will ever be ok with that'.

I must remember to repeat the mantra 'you could die of covid at any point!' in answer to any question, or validation she throws my way, a la 'of course you must xxx, I mean you could die of covid at any point!!'  She is obviously convinced she is on borrowed time, so I will make sure to remind her of it.  I am such a rotten human being, but at least my tales of woe have cheered up the other volunteers this morning, who think my life is a complete hoot.   Definitely sit-com territory.  The older she gets the more she resembles the 'Mother' character in 'Sorry!'.  Which would make me Ronnie Corbett.

She has also told DS1 if he needs to borrow money, he only needs to come to her, as that is what grandparents are for. 

Evil step-gran sent him £100 with the message to have fun and enjoy himself.

In-laws money does not come with strings attached, it has chains and shackles.
