So sorry to hear that news f0xh0les. X Thanks for the link Baileys, I'll subscribe now. I've done shop n scan for years so I'm sort of used to doing this kind of thing, and the sometimes less than useful instructions that accompany.
your call, but I would tell your DH, but doing in a planned way will stop it spilling out when you can't keep it in. Its not going to increase his risk, as he is already locked down, but might increase your comfort.

Thought I was doing so well, did the food shop for £40, then remembered there is breakdown insurance going out tomorrow, so the £40 excess in the budget is really a £25 deficit. Boo! Still, I have food in the house, and the shopping came in cheap this week. Both things to be celebrated. Maybe I will claw a bit back with p/a.
DS1 has finally got his finger out and has decided he wants to do Mech Engineering with a foundation year - probably a wise decision as he would be more likely to drop out if he were in a class with people who had been taught the curriculum and were ahead of him. So that is what he is doing now. His personal statement and choosing which uni's have the course he wants to do.
Made a gorgeous maple and pecan bundt, so light and fluffy, and rescued the 1/2 jar of Bisc0ff spread and used that instead of an icing. I think Mr Somebody, our invisible lodger, has been eating it one tablespoon a night. It also looks like he is drinking the maple and golden syrups. Or putting them in hot milk. Something along those lines, so I thought I would just use the stuff up so it is not there to tempt him, or his mate, Mr Nobody, who also keeps unsociable hours holed up in my pantry. Anyway, it was voted the best cake of the year so far.
Spoke to step-gran - she is a tiny bit cheerier today, which is not saying much. I cannot fix a pandemic, no matter how much she wants me to . She can blame me all she likes for not coming over to sort out her banking. I cannot come. The End. Over 80 and still not been offered a vaccine.
Told DH about my ex-housemate's wife, but he just turned it into Top Trumps (his mate L's dad just died / his mate's partner is in hospital, 3 of his friends' parents are in ICU etc) so I just left it, I am not getting involved in competitive illness.
Apart from that, nothing really. The kids are doing their school work (mostly), the house is a mess, there is a list, I am trying to work my way through it. I need to just get on and do stuff, but I am stuck on the sofa next to my Houdini 11 year old school work shirker.

Great news DS1 has a chosen path. Is he still looking to study local?
Well I guess Top Trumps to CV competition version is better than a total meltdown to deal with, at least you can ignore it without feeling guilty.
Step-gran sounds positively chipper, in that she's her usual self doing your head in. Perhaps you should be penning a letter to BoJo to ask for special dispensation to travel to see her. That said, you can travel for business and she does sound like hard work
Is it me or is this the longest week of the longest month ever? Surely it must be 1st April 2020 soon....
He has left the house once this year now. He went to the dentist today.
He is actually terrified one or other of his parents will catch it and die. He is coping in his own (but really weird) way. As the sole earner in the household he probably has that on his shoulders too (although I could do a full de-briefing on his life insurance policies and tell him we would be fine).
I honestly do not think he could cope with doing the weekly shop in a supermarket. He would be emotionally scarred at the way some people are acting. He has not seen anyone outside our family since last March. Poor thing.
At least I am getting out twice a week to the f/b. I am going to have to get him out for a run soon - now that makes him sound like the dog!
