Himself is a terribly busy professional person whose pay grade is well above the menial task of herding a primary school child, unless it involves using his technical setup and voice recording and lighting things. Apparently, he IS WORKING! as I am told multiple times a day. Then he IS TIRED and NEEDS TO SLEEP. Yawn! (me - through boredom of hearing it, not tiredness). He is coping in his own way and identifies as 'professional person who takes themselves very seriously'I do not identify as a professional person and am happy winging it and singing happy songs and repeating myself 42 times. DH has just told me off for being too negative with DS4 - I keep telling him he is not doing it well enough - mostly because he is not doing it well enough! He can't just rush through it and pretend it is done. That is not reality.Anyway. DS4 will string it out and do the bare minimum if left to his own devices - his devices have been removed until the work is done.Rainy, soggy, old day today. Going to clean 3/4 of the house in readiness for not being here tomorrow. Then the last 1/4 on Friday and over the weekend. Really need to get some things knocked of 'the list' that have been on there for a long time.DH is gaming online with his friends tonight, so I can please myself from 7.30 pm.DH is annoying me today, so I will take myself off and ignore him. He takes himself seriously enough for the both of us anyway.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

F0xh0les i need your input please as I know you also do RM posting in payment for HRH heads.
I have just started and my nearest box has a collection at 9am weekdays, 7am Saturdays, or vice versa. Anyway, it's one collection per day, and early. I had an item to feed into said box on a Monday that said before mIdday. So i posted mid morning.
I then got a query saying their records showed it hadn't entered their system until Tuesday (Which would have obviously been the case based on the collection times) and was I sure I'd entered my posting time correctly. Given they have the last post times of the box, surely they would be able to calculate an item posted after the only collection but within the correct time would not enter the system until the next collection? Has this ever happened to you before? Did I do something wrong?

Did you do something wrong? No, but the general rule that they used to explain beautifully but no longer seem to do (I have been taking The Queen's Head for quite a while) is they would like you to post before the last collection time on the front shield. So as long as it is the same start of postcode - MM2 - - - you can post it anywhere within that area. It does not have to be the closest one to you - I have about 25 postboxes saved to my account because I post them wherever I am closest to on that date/time. So if you get a 'post after midday', and your local supermarket has a postbox, they tend to be 5pm and later, as are the ones on the street outside a post office. As long as you post the letter in the box on the right day, and log the time - and the correct collection time is on the sheet- then that is fine. You are doing what they have asked, it is not your fault if there is only one collection a day from that box. You will get to know which boxes are earlies and which are lates - it is actually quite a handy thing to know sometimes. If the item is entered into the system after it is expected, then often you get an automated 'Are you sure?' message. Just click Yes. It is sent to everyone, not just you. The PO is working on a reduced workforce right now, they are just checking their data is correct.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thank you. Oddly when I did the 'are you up to this job' test posting, the instructions always said a day and 'before / after last posting' but now they just say before / after midday. There is another post box I could walk to which has a later collection of 4.30 but this one is really handy as it's right at the top of my road, so if I'm not going out for anything else, or even if I am going out, I have to go past it anyway.
You're right about knowing the collection times - I'm quite good with a few of the local ones due to best intentions for cards etc then not posting them until the last minute.
I do wish they'd stop sending items to prepare in plastic bags - seems terribly un-eco-friendly.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Ok, C0vid has finally made an impact, the wife of one of the boys I shared student houses with has died. She would have been a few years younger than me I think. Found out via Fascbook. Not sure I ever met her, but she made him really happy and I was glad for them. Can't even begin to imagine where his head is at right now. Last time I saw him was at the funeral of the first of our friends to die of illness and we said we should keep in touch so that we did not only meet at funerals. So sad.Not sure I can tell DH as I really don't think he will cope well with the news. It is just a little bit too close to home - you know?Anyway, the kids all passed with a clean bill of health, I could do with a polish, but that can wait 6 months. Our dentist has left, the dentist that saw us is leaving at the end of the month. Dentists do not want to be dentists during covid. Can't blame them in the slightest. I nearly cancelled, but it was over 12 months since the kids had been, and I just wanted to make sure they were ok and that nothing was majorly wrong.Came home and had the last few slices of both of the Xmas cakes with a cup of tea. Tonight we are having (not) chicken and sweetcorn pie.... when I can be bothered to make it. Best get on with it really.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
