Absolutely agree @greenbee. It's bad enough when you have to keep the kids quiet because daddy works nights. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt!
My DH worked shifts for a while but at least it wasn't all the time there was a problem just every few weeks.
You really need to move Mr F to a place which is a bit more "out of the way" so that the family can still be normal while he's working.

Not going to happen I'm afraid, unless I can magic another room from somewhere. It was all mentioned when he came home from school with all his books and stuff, but he decided it was the least used room and the easiest adapted. Hopefully he will be able to go into his office at some point after Xmas. It will not be a problem at half term as long as they are allowed to plug themselves into the Ex-B0x, but it feels like a parenting fail. Himself just says he has kids, they will have to understand he is teaching from his house. However he will complain about it forever...I have just stuffed 4 enormous apples, which have decided to explode quite dramatically and split open from the bottom as well as the middle! The pears have been poached with star anise, cinnamon and cardamon, and the syrup is reducing, they will appear on the top of a filo pastry custard tart later on, and the apple and plum crumble is nearly done. So should I suddenly come down with smallpox they will not starve. My house smells lovely now.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

If only you had agreed to have the 2x2m (?) potato planter thingy, then you could have used it as a roof and put dh out in the yard.... Jus' sayin'...

Is there room to set him up in your bedroom? I know its not ideal to work / sleep in the same room but perhaps one of those partition screens could be used to hide his desk at night so you don't have to look at his workplace?
Its really difficult when someone is wfh i know, I'm lucky to have a room i can use myself but even then it can irritate OH because I'm home all the time so he doesn't get the house to himself, and if I'm working there still seems to be more distractions at times than in an actual office.

Just catching up and having a giggle at ds written work of cannabis and its electrical consumption. Put me in mind of when I was driving from foods of the frozen farm to Aldee a few weeks ago, and as we drove along the coast dd said to me 'You see that car park?'
'Yes'
'People go dogging in there'.
I still haven't asked her how she found that out,

Classic! Well done ccl-dd.The problem inside dh's head, is that he does not switch off from work (ever) so he does not want to be reminded of it when he is not on the 9-5 - he still keeps to his hours, and his lunch hour -he thrives on routine, and he wants to be in a room at the back of the house as it is quieter, and not in the living room, because that is where he goes 'after work', and not in the bedroom, as that is where he sleeps ( I do sometimes wonder if he is on some kind of 'scale')- he is a compartmentalised organised professional person where his work is concerned, whereas I am a haphazard throw it all up in the air and see where it lands kind of person and as long as all the stuff gets done, and everyone has clean pants, and warm food, then that is a success!I mean next Thursday I will have managed to keep DS1 alive for 18 whole years!! Nobody could have predicted that one! Not with my history of plant neglect. Do I get to stop treating him like a child on Friday? Start asking him if he will be home for supper that night? Not that he goes out - oooh, maybe he will start going out. Ask his opinion on fiscal policy? I do not have experience of treating people in this house as adults. Strange new times!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

After a few days of very small or no spends at all, I am going to start this week (tomorrow) with the right amount of money in the bank, as I have just made £6 on p/a and I can pay it to paypal immediately and pay from there to my bank immediately. There is something quite nice knowing that the budget it where it is supposed to be on the first day of the week. This month seems to be flying by. Over a third gone already. I wonder if it is because I am not dieting? The kids want to run every morning of half term. I have agreed.Right, need to rustle up a chili and prep the potatoes to bake so we are ready to eat at football half time.Custard tart made, and just needs pear decoration.Just shaved the sides of DS4s head ready for hat season - you know it is coming!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I can do ear muffs but not hats, i just look silly in them.
Good luck running each day of half term, i was out this morning, still really mild considering its mid Oct.
Was channelling my inner foxy earlier. Put together some heavy duty shelving i got from FB the other week (this saving £10 from screwfix) which went with the other shelves I'd finally put up after 4yrs in the house this summer.
Tidied a load of boxes onto them (some of car boot stuff for next year as we lost this summer's booting), a box of stuff for the tip and prob some othee stuff OH would say I'm hoarding (i prob am but its stuff from DM that i quite like...if we had a bigger house).
Anyway, the garage is at least tidier and boxes on shelves i can get to rather than stacked in a leaning tower of jenga.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
