Hehe, to the cannabis farm.
About a year ago ds told me and his big boy cousin very elaborate plans with lots of details about how he to run drugs trade information on growing, selling, cell networks, keep his hands clean, how to hide in plain sight, what he would do with the power, how to increase your market share plus lots more. His knowledge was amazing, his cousin questioned him on various points, ds had already thought about it from various angles and could easily answer him.
Now if he can apply the same dedication to a legit business I should be well looked after in my old age 🤣

Just read the news about Purps. Totally gutted. We never met in the real world, although we did not live far apart, and were probably in the same place at the same time but passed like ships in the night. I always thought we would meet one day after all this is over. She was such good fun. We shared a love of scrumping apples, walk in pantries, and the absurd. Now we will never get to meet. Absolutely gutted to have lost my imaginary friend. So just hold those close to you just a little bit tighter tonight.

Another Friday night with nowhere to go, and two thirds of the house clean, tidy, mopped, hoovered, beaten into order, and vanquished. The part for the tv came, dh looked at it and said 'nope, wrong part' which was really flipping annoying as he was the one who looked at it and told me it was the right one and to buy it. Will return it and get a refund and see if I can find the right part next time.I am feeling so restrained by him teaching from the house and it is only week one. On Monday, Wed and Friday he is teaching, and then I have to be quiet. He is recording a lot of his pre-seminar stuff for the distance learners and those who are self-isolating ( 2 lecturers down with Covid already - many more students) plus doing his regular 'Lecture at 10am / 1pm' stuff. So there is masses of stuff to do this weekend - I have apples and pears to turn into cakes, I have pineapples to turn into sweet and sour and cakes, I have plums which will not ripen, which need to be turned into..... cake. Still need to stuff apples and bake potatoes, DH was nearly at meltdown point this evening, he was about to reach for a takeaway, but I headed him off at the pass by offering a homemade Katsu curry loaded fries meal. Basically chip shop curry sauce on chips with a breaded veggie chicken burger cut into strips - there was a salad too! That was the only bit with any nutritional value
All stuff that was in the house anyway. The takeaway would have ended up being around £50. So quite a saving.
Basically everyone and everything is annoying me inside the walls of my house. There has been no written quote from any roofing company at all. In over a week. Nobody puts anything away. Nobody offers to help out. Nobody picks anything up. I might just buy them 30 tins of soup and go on strike until they start to clear up their own messes.DH keeps saying how tired he is and how he is just not right - after me getting an absolute earful last month for saying he might be suffering from long covid or chronic fatigue as he is always tired - I am keeping well out of it. I have taken to saying - 'oh I'm sure you're fine'. I am not getting involved. I don't think he realises how often he mentions his tiredness, or how often he uses it as a justification for not doing something. But if I say anything he thinks it is criticism and becomes defensive. He is a big boy, he can sort himself out. Above my pay grade.I think I might need a dog.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

They don't appreciate you @f0xh0les. Come and look after me instead
I have trades that need chasing and supervising, mostly tidy up after myself, would appreciate being cooked for and can offer you your own bathroom and plenty of time and space for reading (plus a plentiful supply of books).

Hi Foxholes MrCM is the same since term has started, he is been a mega-grump; total PITA.Does ProfFH have a proper headset with mic? If not I strongly recommend buying him a some. I had to buy fancy headphones with mic for recording a lecture (the laptop Mic didn’t work with the software I was made to use). Total revelation for work calls and now MrCM has nicked them for all his live-streaming lectures. Means he doesn’t have to shout, any noise we make has minimal effect on the audio and it has helped restore marital harmony. Yesterday, I forgot he was streaming and was shouting down to him in excitement that I had scored half term childcare & he and the students heard nothing😃. Normally I’d be in the doghouse for a day if I disturb “lecture time 🙄”.10

He has a very sexy dinky mike set up, it looks a bit like a baseball, that he described as 'expensive' when asked - if he thinks it is expensive then pick a number and double it.- just googled it - £65, and he has new headphones and all the jazz he needs. Which is totally not covered by the £6 a week you can claim back from working from home. The problem is that he is set up in the one room in the house you need to walk through to get anywhere else in the house. It is like being inside the centre of a drum, plus if you open or close any door on the ground floor, the 2 doors in there slightly wobble in their frames. The f/b supervisor's eyes lit up when I said I would be wandering the streets trying to find a way to stay out of the house.... don't necessarily want to get dragged into more volunteering when they have just advertised for a couple of paid posts. Don't want to be the bossy volunteer who knows more than the paid staff. Don't want them to rely on me if any one of 4 year groups gets shut down and we have to isolate, just for another year group to go down the week after, iyswim.2 lecturers down already (the ones who wanted to go back to small group face to face teaching - oops) and lots of students having to self isolate, so he is getting less snarky comments than he expected from his students. Now they are starting to get the idea, that they can still have the lectures at the scheduled time, and can ask questions or type questions that will be answered in real time, and can have a bit of a group chat, and get to know the other members of the groups. Not quite as sterile as they expected, but also as they tend to know someone already who is isolating, and can still be involved, they are less bolshy than expected.I have been out already for the smallest 2 to get their doughnuts and popcorn. They have money they want to spend. I will be baking later on anyway. Having a 'Sod It' weekend. Just folded 6 loads of laundry, last load is on now to dry. Then it is all finished before lunchtime. Not going out again. I have everything I need for Monday morning's lunchboxes. Going to do a proper all-in cupboard inventory and see how cheap I can do this next week. I am £50 down on the budget, if I make a load of soups and stews and pastas then I should be able to claw it back by this time next week. I think I might have just forgotten to budget for petrol - I mean, I may have filled up 6 times this year. It completely fell off my radar for months. Not surprised I am a bit over. I am determined to come in on budget this month. Plus I have a new mattress for DS3.Wondering where my vouchers and loyalty points are. I think I 'won' a free £10 worth of S&M loyalty points when I went in and spent my free £3 voucher on Marshmallows and scanned my card. Could not work out why there were so many points on there last month when all I had done was buy free sweeties and get my free tote bag - 2 scans of the card! Plus I have £15 worth of gift cards and a £5 amaz0n code on the way. Also, been offered 3 pairs of size 14 jeans off a volunteering friend, as when I was wriggling about underneath DS2's new-to-him bed, I went in, Action Man style, and left my trousers behind - totally off the end of my feet, gone, so I may not be a skinny jeans 16 any more. I might be a size 14, but as you can't try anything on anymore in a shop, I am going to risk it ! Not colours I would choose, but as I have all these vouchers, and a very good past relationship with Mr Dyl0n, and a working washing machine, what have I got to lose? I might gain 3 pairs of wearable trousers! I currently only own one pair of long trousers, and they need to go through the wash with a black dye anyway. If I can come in on budget this month, then I can justify getting a new cooker next month, and when I have a safe cooker (currently have to light it with matches stuck down the pilot hole and hope it stays lit ) then I can get the kids involved in cooking the evening meal, I honestly do not care if they choose beans on toast, I just want somebody to help out. DH has just announced he wants to make seitan this weekend - so I suggested a sweet and sour with one of my ys 29p pineapples. One meal I will not have to cook! Just hope he does not decide to go out and buy £30 worth of ingredients for it..... it has been known to happen.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I do love your posts f0xy. Even your sod it day sounds busy.
I was reading an article how 200 days of restrictions can leave lasting PTSD on people, ok it was a yahoo article so not exactly high quality journalism but i get what they were saying. There's times things feel normal, and times it feels like being stuck in a giant bear trap.
Last month was the first month i had to fill up with petrol twice between pay days since Feb....given i wfh my petrol is driven (no pun intended) by my weekly gym class in another town and just driving for shopping etc.
I feel sorry for the students with so much criticism thrown at them atm. Lots of people saying 'they're adults so they should just get on with it'. Us older adults are and have struggled, they've alreayd had the disruption of their alevels etc being cancelled in the form were going to be held, dealt with the same uncertainties everyone else has, and now many (some of whom are only just 18) are away from home for the first time, with people they don't know, in a city they don't know, in an institution they don't know and dealing with changing restrictions that Roadrunner would have trouble keeping up with. No wonder some are struggling. It's good to hear ProfFH ones seem to be adjusting well.
Would you consider a paid position at the FB?
Right, off to shift my backside (my jeans are staying firmly up atm) and get off the sofa.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

kerri_gt said:would you consider a paid position at the FB?Not during a pandemic, starting the week of half term, with dh trying to teach from the house. Apart from that... why not?
Maybe next time there are positions going, but it is providing stability to my week at the minute, and that is enough for me. Getting the kids capable of putting a meal on the table before I abandon them is the direction I am going in, and then DS4 starts 'big boy school' next September, so I am aiming for around that time to look to pick up some paid work.

Is there anyway you can move DH's setup into a quieter spot before half term? While a noise-cancelling set-up can stop his colleagues/students hear what's going on, and background blur or false backgrounds can keep most activity out of view, noise will still be distracting for him. And if he's going to be teaching and working from home long-term you need to stick him in a corner/basement/attic where he won't be in your way...
After all, it's your home too (and the kids' home, obviously) not just his workplace.10
