Oh, except the diet is off and I have not run in over a week as I banged my knee on a door and it is really flippin' sore!So the diet re-begins tomorrow. I have just fallen off the wagon while the school run becomes a normal routine again. I will spend the coming week working out how the diet and running fits in with the massively lengthened school run, and the DH being at home for lunch fits in with the healthy eating plan - I think I am going to have to bring out the diet big guns! SOUP!So what is the weather forecast? above 20 degrees every day until next weekend! sheesh!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Only 3lbs to lose to get back to where I was!I cleaned and tidied, I mopped floors, and I have come to the conclusion I really need to get on with my sewing projects - if I finished those, and some clothes mending, then I would get rid of most of the stuff cluttering up one corner of the kitchen.I moved 3 of the bikes back into the shed, which frees up enough room to have the sofa I moved out of the living room (to make way for the yellow armchairs) in the back room, and still have room left over for DH to put up his static bike, and have his desk and all his work related bits. He thinks he is going to be back teaching sooner rather than later now, even though he has to put all his stuff online in case it all gets shut down due to covid cases. The pressure to get them all back into the university building is mounting. A complete volte-face from a fortnight ago. He is very worried. He already thinks he is coming down with something.School run starts again tomorrow, I have an eye test and I need to get some new glasses so it will be spendy, but it is a need not a want.Loving being able to dry the clothes on the line again. Knee is much less painful today. If it continues at this rate, I will try a short trot up the road soon. I need to make sure the school run does not completely ruin the habits I had set up over the summer.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

This might be useful for checking symptoms vs. not wanting to go to school! https://covid.joinzoe.com/post/back-to-school4

DS3 is complaining nothing tastes 'right'. He is tired and very grumpy (but that might just be the algebra homework) but I have been trying hourly to get him a test and everything is booked up. No slots available. So I don't know what to do except keep trying to get a test, but I do have the feeling DS3 is swinging the lead. The gov.uk site also states quite clearly, some sites are for over 18s only. How are you supposed to get a 12 yr old tested then??Today is, dropping the kids at school, coming home and cleaning. Spot of laundry. Making jellies. Buying a thermometer. Furniture charity shop should get 'new' stock today. Only have the school run to do no other commitments. The kids come home, have a snack, head off to their rooms and we don't really see much of them until the next feeding time. So really they are self isolating in their rooms.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Perhaps suggest you are making whatever his fav dinner / snack is - or even better start making it and let him see it in the kitchen - then gauge his reaction. If he's really ill he'll either still be off it or say it tastes strange / won't eat it, if he's swinging the lead I bet there'll be a momentary lapse. Probably not the most scientific method of testing but I expect it has a much (if not more) scientific basis than half the stuff BJ comes out with. Other option is to mention some new highly random symptom and see if he suddenly says he has that too.
I'd be tired and grumpy with algebra homework too. In fact, as a 'grown up' I'm tired and grumpy - from all the housework to do.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

They are all still eating everything not nailed down, I am half convinced they are suffering from the normal disease of 'other people's dirty kids' germs' they get the second or third week back at school, usually accompanied by a sore throat and closely followed by a cough that I finally manage to rid the house of during October half term. When they all start falling asleep in the car on the 15 minute ride home from school, and refuse food, then I will worry. I am still buying a thermometer though - the kids have put it somewhere - every now and then one of them comes up to me waving it asking in a censorious tone 'Is this a PREGNANCY test?' and I say 'No you flippin' idiot and don't you dare pee on it put it back!!,' and then they shuffle away looking bashful and loudly whispering to another brother hiding nearby, 'Its a thermometer you spoon!'. Anyway, they did not put it back. Hence the need for another one unless it turns up before lunchtime.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

It's when they stop arguing with each other you really need to worry. I've heard lots of kids are sniffing and snuffling with being back at school. Prob the shock to the system of the whole thing after so long off for some too.
Wonder what they'd have said if you'd replied that it was a pregnancy testFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Nobody has a temperature! yay! The house is clean and hoovered. Scrumped apple puree from the fridge was turned into a crumble which is actually really quite magnificent, even if I do say so myself. But now I am knackered and am going to laugh at the people on '3at Well 4 Less' and their shopping habits. I have done nearly everything on my list today, apart from interview a Roofer and make a jelly. The c/s lady told me she is expecting a double bedframe and a kingsize bedframe to come in tomorrow just after lunchtime. That would knock a good chunk off my 'things I need to replace' list. So fingers crossed for me please.DS3 was most miffed he has no temp. His friend at school is off with symptoms, but nobody can get a test here, so he has to stay off until ten days have passed or he can get a negative test result. Oh well, at least the house is clean and all the kids mattress toppers went through the washing machine on a (new to me) setting called 'Hygiene 60' and they look clean and do not smell of sweaty smelly boys. I do love that machine.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
