I've been scrumping apples! I've been scrumping apples! I have a massive woven shopping bag full of apples of all sorts and varieties... and nobody willing to help out with peeling or cooking them. Well DH would if I said to him, but the kids disappeared as soon as work was to be done. Ratbags! Made a lovely apple pie for pudding, nice and tart and oat milk custard went down well.I have £14.50 of
2 sh0p vouchers coming my way to spend
I am quite tired today as I got sucked into Battlestar Galactica on BBC2 last night, which went on til nearly 1am and I loved it. I have it all on dvd and I think I will have to revisit it - SO SAY WE ALL!Anyway, cleaned stuff, tidied stuff, made sure I have lunchbox tat for tomorrow, made food, they ate food. I dieted. The End.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

If they don't help, they shouldn't be allowed the results
i am kidding, they'd be uproar in your house.
I picked up some lovely windfalls from the lady round the corner yesterday that i need to process.
Also found a pear tree, the side overhanging the footpath is too high so i need to ask the business if i can pick those on their side (its private property but commercial so i don't know if they use them or not...hopefully not)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

What an interesting 15 minutes I have just had. I may have mentioned DS1 is in yr 13 and was very annoyed to find out he had to have yr 12s in his registration class twice a day when they had all been told they were in strict year bubbles, but it was ok, as they were not 'in the city' and were a county school for county people. I have just had a text to tell me all of yr 12 is in quarantine until 21st and cannot come to school, but year 13 is fine and can come on in as levels of contact 'have been within the acceptable levels of tolerance' (quote), no they flippin' haven't !! Every yr 13 was told they had to share a 2 person desk with a yr 12 student! They went back to school last Tuesday, and today a whole year group is down already. Yr 10 is out for the next (posh) school down the road, and the closest primary school to me has had to close yr 1 before the first week was over. And that clown BoBo is all over the tv telling us how you can't be in a group of more than 6 people, unless you are a school child, a university student, or an educator (btw, your invincibility pants are in the post, along with your cape, and thigh high slightly kinky boots - watch this space! ). For Flippin Flippety Flip's sake!Just come on out and admit Wintermaas is cancelled unless you earn over £90k and have a holiday home. Now stop hogging all the tests, you peasants, and go out and spend money. Preferably on horse racing.Oooh I am cross!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

A phrase that includes booze up & brewery comes to mind. Not surprised you are cross.

There are kids in DS1s year who have lost their sense of taste and smell, and cannot seem to book a test anywhere near where we are. On Tuesday they changed the rules after Hatt Manc0ck complained asymptomatic people were having tests, so the walk in centres have started to demand pre-booking or no test. Kind of annoying. The University is trying to figure out how to get the staff back mixing with the students. They offered them a gift pack containing a bottle of hand santiser and a visor.... DH not impressed. The news on the radio this afternoon announced £5million of funding for experiments on how kids transmit the virus in school settings and home environment. I am not filled with confidence.I am filled with salad though. Which is quite amazing as I fell into the chocolate box and appear to have put on 5lbs in 3 days. I have not eaten an extra 150000 calories. I did carb it up a bit though, and the school run is beyond stressful.I bought the fixings to put up the mirror on the landing, and I think I have found the plans for the extension I want to have. It looks the same shape as our house, and it could work really well with our budget. Now I just need to find out about heating, and the Green Deal money - lets hope that it is more helpful than the Eat Out to Help Spread Covid plan.Sorry, today is the day Hatt Man is supposed to make another statement about the Leicester Lockdown. It will not affect me much, as we are 6 people anyway, and the rule of 6 is in place, but having been 'residents only' in the city for so flippin' long it really annoys me when they are bringing in a less restrictive system in the North West, and people are complaining they won't be able to have 8. 9 or 12 people round for Sunday lunch at the same time. We haven't been allowed anyone at all for so long!!We are feeling forgotten over here in Leicester, while the rest of the county seems to be happy to sit in cafes and garden center cafes and are telling me their plans for holidays in Scotland with their grown up kids ( the rental place doesn't know we are not one household!), I just can't see how this is going to come to any sort of an end while everyone and his dog appears to be treating it like an exercise in 'how to get around the rules 101' and then claiming 'it's not very clear though is it??' Yes it flippin' is. No mixing households, and no more than 6 people unless 6+ people sleep in your house on a daily basis.I despair! I hope he makes an announcement before 10.30pm tonight - he is making a habit of these late night announcements relating to us.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I have actually got quite a lot done today. Seduced by the promo adverts for Mr M's Shopping Emporium and the price cuts on DS1s favourite breakfast cereal (£1.25 down to 79p) I went off and raided their store. 6 Pittas for 39p (they are as good as home made DH says ) Earl Grey for £3.50, 4 tins of chick peas/ butter beans / tomatoes for £1 and 22p baked beans, all hopped happily into my trolley. I feel more secure now my pantry is a wonder to behold. The kids school is very close to the Herr Ledl and a large T0ssc0 so I have been going over there, but Mr M's is actually closer to me in t'other direction. I need to get back to buying certain things from certain places. Then I got all my Lurve-2-Sh0p gift cards and went off to the Icy Land of Frozen Foodstuffs and bought all the stuff for lunchboxes for £0 to me, and 2 bottles of Vimto as I am missing Manchester. Classy eh?Then I sat down and had a cup of tea rudely interrupted by step-gran who was bored and figured the best thing in the world to do was ring up and plague the life out of me. It cheered her up and gave me earache! I have to ring a company about her ground rent that she was not paid in April and she wants to know if she is going to get it in October. She can ring herself, but she thinks she is giving me something to do. Like I don't have enough on my plate. So with the football back on, I watched a bit, felt guilty about not having processed all those scrumped apples yet, and knowing I had some crumble mix in the fridge left over from the other day that needs using up soon, I have made a dutch apple pie, so that got rid of 9 apples, and then I have made the rest (20+) into apple sauce to go into whatever pies or crumbles or other things I can be bothered to make for my ungrateful hoard. I have about a 1/3 mixing bowl left of apples to process , so DS3 comes sneaking into the kitchen, says 'Is that all the apples we have left? Can we go scrumping again tomorrrow?' They all think they are doing me a favour by keeping me busy! Anyway, just under a million apples processed, and some can go into the freezer, which has all the pasties and sausage rolls I need for lunchboxes for the week, and free postal survey vouchers have bought the crisps and cans and fruit. I got a surprise £25 from the energy company I use, there was no real reason, just a - It has been decided we overcharged you in 2019. Then a payment appeared. O .... K......, maybe. Ta very much I suppose.I have successfully managed to get one kid to the dentist! Next appointment March 2021 for him.The weather is picking up here, it is ridiculously hot already, so the washing has been on the line and 4 loads have dried so far. I have taught DS1 and 2 how to use the new washing machine. They are now in charge of their own pants. So that is about all the news from Le Shire. Child benefit on Monday, eye test on Monday, Volunteering on Monday, School run on erm, Monday. That's about all folks!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
