I went to 3 shops on the way back from  the f/b and still couldn't get pasta.  All this 'the supply lines are open and shelves are full' is flippin' flippin' nonsense.   So my house  has  no   pasta . .. at ...all.....  Nightmare!!

So I guess it is Chineses and salad meals until Monday. 

I can do sausage rolls and salads x 2 meals,  a broccoli, mangetout, carrot and beansprout based stirfry,  a veg fried rice, a noodle dish, something to do with filo pastry,  an orzotto, a veg stew, and anything else that springs to mind....... DH has said  ' just stay home until you absolutely have to go shopping'  but  I would say  that is Monday,  and then there is still no guarantee there will be pasta.   Loo roll crisis will happen in about 8 days. We will have run out of all veg by Tuesday.  Cor, it's like living with flippin' vegans.......  What it does mean, is that I will still have £49 in my purse and no money leaving my bank account until Monday!  (yay!)  except no money will leave my account, because ys o'clock will mean I will only use purse shrapnel. 

I have also just accidentally made scones.  Ooops. The oven was on. It just happened.

I am looking forward to two whole weeks without being emailed by one or other of the kids' teachers.

It will mean we should be all caught up with homework and ready to start again on 20th.  I cannot get my kids to realise this is not just extra holiday, it is 'homeworking from home'.   Apparently I am a fascist.

Right, another awful book is due to go live in the c/shop bag by bedtime tonight.  I must get on with that.

Great news on the weight loss @foxholes - my knickers have also got too big! I think it might be the rationing...

Do you have any kind of catering suppliers near you f0xh0les or any kind of italian store perhaps? Might sound silly but we have a massive Italian deli / supermarket type store on an industrial estate just outside of town, all the supermarkets were stripped yet they had plenty still as no one thought to look a bit further afield. Or any local restaurants that might be offering food boxes or willing to sell pasta. There's a lot of places just trying to earn some cash whatever way they can, esp as they don't know when they may open again.

Long time lurker here, have you tried any local corner shops. our local one has had pasta available all the time.Not to mention toilet rolls, flour and paracetamol.

I have been a good little bunny and stayed at home, unless I was out at the f/b in which case I would swing past any shops on the way back, so I can keep going for another 4 days until the next session.  I have not done a 'shopping trip' as such for nearly a month. Might head out later and have a look.

MiL has unhelpfully sent the kids a mass of sugar for Easter, I am talking huge 500g  bags of jelly sweets each, a couple of family sized chocolate bars each, plus non vegan stuff (she has only had 20 years to get used to it) plus snack bars, plus diabetes, plus marshmallows ... the woman who goes on and on about how fat everyone else is.   Grrr!

One would have been enough, but the box that arrived was ridiculous.

I am very quickly realising that being the only extrovert in a family of introverts is no flippin' fun at all.  

Everyone else here is absolutely fine. 

Step Gran has now gone totally deaf, she has been shovelling olive oil into her ears at night, and bunging them up with cotton wool so she does not get a messy pillow, and now omg what a surprise! she can't hear at all and is blaming her hearing aids for being broken.   So she rang me last night, deaf as a post, shouting down the phone that the local chemist does not do ear syringing and did I know where did.   I do not even live in the same country as her.  Never have, but suddenly I am N.I.  NHS guru.   If she would stop sticking things in her ears, this would not have happened, but she did it to one ear, and couldn't hear, so then did the same to the other ear, and  apart from that, hearing aids do not like to be gunked up with olive oil!!! Whatever happened to 'don't stick anything in your ear smaller than your elbow'?

And the  2m distancing rule means she can't get anyone out to see to them.  

Old people!  Honestly!

In other news, the other bunch of over 70's are currently having acupuncture on their cat's tail due to possible nerve damage after a savage attack by bears (well, possibly a fox, or dog) - the vet wanted to remove the tail, but they said no, as it would look funny (excuse me???).  I  tried to explain to the kids how poking pins into a cat and calling it acupuncture is obviously vastly  different to calling the RSPCA because someone was poking pins  into a cat.  I might not have tried very hard,  actually.

They did not like the idea of her giving the cat colloidal silver either, although they did oooh and ahh at the thought of it turning blue, but  I am not sure they are advocates of alternative therapies, and seem to equate it all to anti-vaxxers.
