She rang back to complain about some seeds she could not get online for us (we told her not to get us any seeds), so I thought I would question her as to how big this flippin thing was - she was talking about it having a much deeper back than the front, when she said it was 2m x 2m so I was able to tell her if she got it i would no longer be able to open the back gate, or the shed door, or the 'back door, and I would not be able to use the washing line. So she tried to sell me on the 2m x 1m one, so I played the roofing and scaffolding card. So she has emptied her basket and wanted to buy us some barrels instead - which I politely declined as it would make it easier to climb into our yard and rob us if there were a row of barrels, and I would also have the problem of not being able to open the flippin doors!!!! (plus roofing and scaffolding and obvious inevitable damage to it)So DH comes home, and I start to yap about his mum, and he says - 'she asked me all about this yesterday and I told her no!'. So of course if one person says no, the best idea is obviously to find someone else to ask and then try and do it anyway.Luckily she cannot argue with maths and numbers and relative dimensions in space. Bullet dodged. If she lived closer, I have no doubt i would have an alcohol problem. Bl00dy woman.I will just have to go and buy my own sack of potatoes. Once this one runs out in about 3 weeks time.DH returned with lots of fruit and veg, a sack of couscous, a sack of Baldo rice (he is a rice snob - the right rice for the right dish apparently) a big back of red lentils and a sack of dried chickpeas, but could not find any kind of bread, or flour for making bread, and the shop staff wearing masks freaked him out a bit. So he is home and has no intention of going out again for the foreseeable.I am down to half a shelf of the freezer being occupied, so I will nip out tomorrow to H3r0n and also to Icyland, and use my post survey vouchers - currently £6.50, but another 4.50 is due shortly - you can get a lot of free burgers for £11!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

yay! my yeast arrived in the post - the only way I could get any. It was stupidly expensive £4.50 for 100g, but I paid with survey points vouchers so no real cost to me.

When they announced there would be no conference this afternoon because of the cobra meeting, I new this was going to happen, so I headed out at 7pm, got 4 litres of soya milk in Mr A's, and some veg and breakfast cereal - was moderately busy but no queue at till . Then to Herr L's - nearly empty except pensioners buying 1 or 2 items - 2 litres of soya milk and one box cereal - then Mr T's - only single harried looking people - for more ys salad veg, pittas and wraps, yogurt, sweetcorn and fisherman's friends for dh. So I think that will do us until the weekend. Was home before 8pm to find dh in a total tizzy about me having gone out. He is such a drama queen. I think it means he likes me.So now we are in. The kids have masses of work sent home - the smallest has about 3 hours of work a day. The 2 oldest have done nothing last week at all, they just told us they were doing it. So they have masses to catch up, and all their stuff for this week has been thrown onto 'showmyhomework', with no mention of handing it in, just powerpoints of what their classes would have been, or mock exam papers, again, with no mention of how to grade or mark them. Madness.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I am on top of the schoolwork for the smallest 2, (10 and 12) the older two seem to think they can do nothing and still be ok. It is rather difficult with a 15 and 17 yr old who refuse to get out of bed. I can see myself sitting on the end of their beds reading their Hillman's Notes aloud while they pretend to be asleep. Resistance may be futile but it is still flippin' annoying. The smaller two are in the back room with Joe Wicks right now hopping about and shouting ooooh! and ahhhh! and giggling like mad. Jolly good then. Bump ... bump ... bump...Oh god, I can hear dh shouting at DS3 already. I worry about dh's mental health. It is tiring when he is down, and it does him good to go to work and escape my madhouse. DH+DS2 +DS1's laziness do not combine well.Oh well, it is my problem.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I got a message from the foodbank this afternoon, which, in summary said HELP!! so I went off and helped out for an hour or so. They only had one person in, so at least I halved the amount of time the job took, food donations are up, monetary donations are up, but we can't spend it, as we are restricted to the 2/3/4 items per customer limit at the supermarket!!So I will be going in again early and sorting donations later on in the week. The news coming from Spain about the old people's homes is just horrific. Just seen the daily death toll here.So just stay at home unless you have to go shopping (still empty shelves today at Mr A's for dried goods but plenty of fruit and veg) or need to go in to work/volunteer. I am aiming for one shopping trip a week -in and out in less than an hour from door to door, and volunteering once or twice a week, where there is only one or two other people in the building at any one time. 2m apart.Tonight's supper is a very simple tomato pasta. The kids' regular savers accounts matured today, so they all have their £29.30 in their accounts and are asking me if we can spend it. Sadly the shops are shut. Suck it up, cupcakes. Money does not have a sell by date.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

This will give them plenty of time to plan their spending.
Your plan for shopping seems sensible.
