I have no idea what the local situation is regarding food availability as we have kept away from the shops since Monday morning when I did our usual weekly shop.

I have just seen a lady marching up the road swinging a wicker basket - so I am betting she is going old school shopping.  Wonder how long C-19 lasts on wickerwork.. Bet she knows!

Hi Foxholes; school is going to send stuff over next week to the self isolating families.  Thanks for the tips! It’s going to be challenging as we are both full-time but we will just have to muddle through. DH and I are both the kids of school teachers so we are also thinking of Zoom  school with Granny for the older one.  But need to sort out the IT at my mums end. Her pet subjects are geography and international development, I am biologist and DH a mathematician so we are a bit weak on languages and English. We are going to try PE with Joe, gardening and baking plus lots of art.  

Both kids asked when they are going back to school/preschool at tea-time.  We told them the truth,  that we don’t know.  DD was quite upset.

Tell them the teachers are so happy with them they have given them extra holidays until the other kids catch up, so now is the time to really show how clever they are before they have to hide it behind 29 other kids.

F-F-F-S. I am about to receive a large plastic growing bed thing from m-i-l.  I have a yard.  Let me make this clear. I live in a victorian terrace. it is L shaped. In no place is outside more than 2m wide. Doors still have to open outwards - 3 of them.  She suggested  I grew potatoes in it.  For 6 people????  She might as well have announced a white elephant will arrive by noon.   I will now have to buy soil for it, and make sure things are growing in it when they visit.  FOREVER!!!!!!

She asked dh if he wanted one and he said no. It is ordered already.  I wonder if I could send it back? refuse delivery on the grounds she is mentally ill and should not be allowed online without a responsible adult...  the worst thing is she will tell everyone how great it is she has given me X for the rest of my life.   It is passive aggressive gift giving.  She hates we do not have a garden.  I prioritised bedrooms and living space over outdoor space, she would never have done that.  Good job it is not her house then.  grrrr.

Step -gran is panicking, but ok for now.  I have a headache.  Relative-related.   FF/FF/F'Sake.

Just claim your street is in lockdown and keep it that way. Then she can never come and visit again... 
I'm currently trying to find a greenhouse that will fit on the hardstanding I have...
