Deff sounds like people are offloading things from xmas hampers. DH got one at work that I did offload a few things from before xmas...like the obligatory xmas pudding which neither of us like and a few other bits. I would swap it for the truffle oil though, yum!

Happy March!  I have just overpaid the mortgage by a teeny tiny amount so that I am under £93,500 by a smidge. I am aiming for a maximum of £88k by Xmas.

I have stripped all the beds, remade all the beds, dragged all the bedding downstairs and am working my way through mount Hotp0int.  I had enough sheets without frantically laundering one set.  I need to keep an eye open for a blue single duvet cover for DS3. 

Dieting is immensely boring. I  made a massive vegetable and barley soup for supper, while in the kitchen at lunchtime, so that is ready to go, and I have baked a gingerbread loaf and a mint choc cake - they are still in the oven now doing their thing very slowly, not sure why, well, apart from the oven being dodgy. That explains a lot.

Unsurprisingly the money is still not in my account.  Which means I will get stupid pinging messages from the bank all night telling me I am overdrawn, while being £1500 in credit 2 minutes later.  My phone will sleep downstairs as usual.  I am not getting involved with that nonsense.

Apart from that, nothing of note to report. Dh spent £250 on new glasses today.   Not my budget so I am saying nothing.  He is a professional person with a reputation to uphold and needs professional glasses with a professional price tag. Obv. (giggle emoji).

Happy Sunday!

We have a fully functioning tv aerial - DH paid, it was £250, so less than half of the previous quote and he was a nice man with a very long long ladder (it is quite a way up) and he nearly fell off on more than one occasion. 

The sky is blue, the sun is shining in through the back room patio doors, and dh is insisting on having the heating on as the inside of his head is cold, and he does not pay the bills (shaking head emoji). This morning I have made borscht with the lonely huge beetroot from the pantry, made a leek, potato and sausage stew with the stuff from the £1.50 L1dl surprise box, and a tomato and red pepper soup.  Half of it will be froze, half of it will go and live in the fridge for lunches  (5 days of strike this week), I baked all the baby potatoes so they will reappear at some point,  and I still need to bake for the lunchboxes.

I have a menu suggestion list of 20 meals, so I will be doing very little shopping for the foreseeable, but will nip to Tesc0 at yellow sticker o'clock  tomorrow night after volunteering.

Tonight I am going to drag them all to the light installation art project in the centre of town, It is the last night it is on, and I want to go. Don't think it will cost anything, but I have the price of a gelato cone each for them in my coat pocket, just in case they turn nasty and I need to throw food at them. Supper is the leek and sausage stew. 

4/5ths of the house is clean and tidy.   DS4 needs a book day costume next Friday - it has to be home made - they can't do it the same day as everyone else!  He needs to take a sock in with him so they can make sock puppets of their favourite book character.  So of course he wants to go as a character from a book he has not read.  Gandalf.  Cool, but still, read the flippin' book kid!  So dh is busy making a beard, and contemplating making a set of robes for him.

I am going to stir my soup. have a cup of tea, and bake for the lunchboxes.

It is very sunny outside and we were up and drinking coffee at 7.15 this morning as it was too light to be  in bed. 

Bah! Roll on October.

How's the beard coming along? If we were closer you could have repurposed the one i have from my Santa Dash costume which i kept because...well you just never know when you may need an emergency beard....

Something strange appears to have happened - we have £20k in the renovations fund.  I think it is time for an architect.  Which has just proved I do not know how to spell architect.  The idea makes me feel sick (the architect not being unable to spell).

DH is off to town this morning to have his varifocal contacts fitted and to pick up his very professional glasses.  I am cadging a lift (well, I am probably driving him tbh) as I need to pay in a cheque for DS3 who annoyingly does not share a first initial with either me or dh (roll on floor whilst committing fraud emoji) so I can't take a photo of it, and I also have £3 S&M vouchers from credit card, which is usually spent on bonus extra houmous.

We are still coughing here, DS2 has stopped, DS3 is over it, DS1 and 4 have just started, dh is still coughing and thinks he may have broken a rib coughing.  Would not be in the slightest bit surprised, but he woke up snotty and cold-y this morning, So he has decided he may not be dying, and he is  in fact, just a big girly wuss.

I have lost nearly a stone now - one more lb and it is a stone gone since 14th January. DH is still the same weight as me.

13lbs down, only another 37 to go before I am no longer overweight and I am at the top end of 'normal'.  This is purely mass salad based dieting, I am not adding exercise just yet. I will do soon, I promise.

DH has just made me a cup of tea and bemoaned the lack of his comb, which ds4 borrowed a fortnight ago and he has been looking for ever since.  He should have asked me, it is in my car, along with ds4's hair wax, so he is super slick with his plaited topknot and shaved sides every morning before he launches from the back seat onto the playground.  He is a poser.

Supper tonight is Greek spiced shredded soya based protein (tastes a million times better than it sounds - it is proper lush stuff) with a huge salad platter, pittas for the kids, and a fruit salad and icecream.  Will be about 12 of their 5 a day.  Which is marvellous, as their lunchboxes contain absolute trash, but they are at least eating something.  They do  have porridge for breakfast.  I can control what they eat in the house, I am content with that, I cannot control what they eat when I am not there. 

Lunch will be tomato and red pepper soup, which will bring me up to 5/5 already so I will probably end the day on 15+/5. Yay me!

£20k saved!  (jumping idiot emoji!!)

Need to get on with Gandalf robes and hat.  Bad mother. Naughty mother. Beard is done though.

It turns out it was not dh's missing comb, it was a mystery comb.  The 'Where's my Comb?' saga continues........
