I don't know where it went in. I thought I did, but now I am not so sure. The pain is not where the biggest hole is - I only really wear shoes when I go out the front door, so it is my own stupid fault. Will go get some plasters. Very wise.

Spent the night randomly waking up to my foot fizzing and it feels quite a bit better this morning. Things they don't tell you about in school.

DS1, so laid back he is horizontal, has decided he will rock up to school about 10ish to find out his exam results, and confirm with the college that he can start next week. So I will go to Mr Ts and Herr L1d1with ds3 &4, while he is doing his thing, , and if he wants to come back with us he can, if he wants to wander off with his mates, so be it.

DH announced this morning he is struggling to ride his bike the 1 mile to work at the moment. He will not get a second/third/fourth opinion about his knee. Losing weight will help him lots. Will concentrate on healthier eating. I shall beat him with broccoli and subdue him with spinach.

Budget still looking pretty amazing with 8 days left to go until payday.

One week until they are back at school

Last antibiotic just taken - hayfever rotten this morning, but it takes 2 days for the anti-B to get out of your system and warns against taking other meds while taking it.

F-i-L gets medical results today about whether the C has spread to his bones.

So all in all, a day of discovery, by bedtime we should know more than I do right now.

Congratulations to DS1 - a good set of results, even if he would have liked better. The joys of college and A levels await.

Hope the foot and tooth are starting to feel better for you.

  • Brilliant results for DS1 f0xh0les. Well done, and I'm pleased he's gotten into college as planned.
Hope the foot gets sorted out soon...
  • Hey Foxgloves -

Congratulations to ds1 - if he's disappointed does he know how to do better in future?

Foot: seek medical advice???? You don't want an infection and more antibiotics.

Fil - hope there is positive news for you all.

Father in law's cancer is confined to his prostate, so that is coming out and job done. In my head I assume it is like taking a kitty to the vet. snip, snip, pop. No longer a problem.

Perhaps best not use that analogy to FIL :rotfl::rotfl: good to hear its confined, how is OH now the news is positive?

Well done DS1. Great results and main thing is he's got the college course(s) he wants to do. Sometimes a little disappointment isn't a bad thing to give a wake up call...speaking from experience (let's just say I got my uni place based more on my GCSE results than A-Levels :o ''twas a shock to the system that's for sure but meant I knuckled down more for uni)

I know it is a 2hr operation and can have repercussions with incontinence and allsorts that m-i-l will dwell on, but he has got to 76 without a single health issue until last year. Which is a major achievement in my book.

DH is much bouncier, he said he slept well last night (miracle!).
Viciously disappointed this morning to find out that hamster in spanish is el hamster. I had expected better. No idea why.

Well what have I been up to, I hear you ask (I hear voices in my head), well, I have informed CTaxC and ChBenefit peoples that DS1 is still in education and so they can treat him as a child and keep paying me for him.
I have chased up the testicle ultrasound - was told they were only informed 3 weeks ago he needed one, and it takes them between 4-6 weeks on average to issue an appointment. Nothing like planning in advance.
I have made another £5 from p/a. That will pay out today, so the bank balance is still ok.

Nobody wants to do anything today. The kids have all realised that the hols are over in 5 days, so they want to spend as long as possible a) in bed and b) on a computer.

It is however a lovely day for drying laundry, and that is on the line, the kitchen is cleaned and tidied and dh made a lovely Buddha's Delight for lunch (7 veg in it). I think I will do a veggie bacon /cabbage/ boiled potatoes for supper tonight. The kids claim they hate it, but they eat every scrap and ask if there is more - so I think they hate the idea of it more than the reality, plus I have some rather excellent ys (15p) Cavallo Nero to use. Posh peasant food.

Got the subs letter from the ping pong club for DS3 & 4 this morning. So £101 to find from somewhere soon. Good job the budget is going so well. Still have £200 to pay for DS4s residential next year as well. Will have to start sticking money away for all these bits and things. I do put money away, but I earmark it for the stuff that needs doing in the house. Plus DS1 will no doubt need a few shirts and books for his course.

Luckily the two year teaching curriculum has come to my aid once more, so DS1 can pass all his study guides down to DS2 - I have bought new (second hand) texts for him to write in himself, but at least we have the dvds of Romeo & Juliet with guns, and the workbooks already. Will not be so lucky with DS3 as there is a 3 academic year gap.
Still need to get black sports shorts and black school shoes for dS3 - hooray for Sp0rts Direct, boo to DS3 being the fussiest of all the fussiest footwear needers in the house. DS1 has also announced his shoes feel a little tight - he was in a 9, and has been asking for DMs, good job I did not buy them a fortnight ago. They just keep growing!! Probably my fault for feeding them.
