Definitely plan a solo visit to the puffins. Then you can enjoy it without having to listen to anyone else moaning about not wanting to be there, being cold/tired/hungry/thirsty/needing a wee/it smells etc...

As for DH's mouth - weetabix for breakfast, tinned soup with no bits twice a day. Jelly, custard, yogurt, ice cream. (I'm having a second gum graft next week. Must order more frozen yogurt!).

My fridge is full of yogurt, all types and flavours that soy can be made into, and custards, and he has opted for a no chilli dahl, and that seems to be making him happy - he is going for soft food, rather than smooth stuff as they have stuck the post in now and sewn it down. Makes him sound like a soft toy doesn't it?

Got up after a mega-lie in this morning (7am:rotfl:), the house has been cleaned and hoovered, there are loads of roadworks planned for the school route this week, so I am glad I am only bringing DS1 up and down the road 3 days this week, nice of them to time it with school hols. DH went off to work for 3 and a half hours.

Baked a choc chip peanut butter loaf cake and a coconut loaf cake, puff pastry pizza slices and a cheese and potato pie before lunchtime. Watched the football (we won 4-0), finished a book, and I am just finishing a cuppa before putting another load of laundry on the line. DS1 and 2 have volunteered to clean and hoover their own rooms and strip their own beds:T.

This afternoon will be spent with passport forms and a black biro, and a lovely bath as a reward for doing it. I have 2 to do, but as DS1is now 16, it is going to be £150ish for the two. Oh well, it will be the last time I am paying for his passport.

Nobody wants to go anywhere (except me) and nobody wants to do anything (except me), so at least I am not spending any money. The car is full of petrol. There is food in the fridge and freezer, and all is well in the world.:beer:

Leave them all behind and go and do what you want (playing with puffins?). If you don't tell them you're going, as long as the wifi is working and the cake tin is full it'll probably take them a while to notice you're gone

Masses of laundry line dried and folded and returned to users. One single solitary seed has peeked its head up out of the soil. They are lined up in front of the double glazed patio doors, so plenty of light, warmth, and opportunity.
DH is making supper tonight. What a nice man he is.
YHA have a half price sale on, so I am going to look and see what I can find for a bargain price near a possible-puffin-perching-place.

Wednesday already. The kids have been loving the £1 football sessions, DS1 is not loving the revision sessions, but that is over for the rest of the week. There was a photo session this morning at a different football camp, on t'other side of town, so we trooped over there to find the people who were supposed to be bringing the new kit, brought the wrong sizes, and considering there were all of 8 kids with the right permission slips, they did not have enough tops for the kids anyway! Proper poor performance. Hope it is better next week for photo shoot part deux.

So I should have a much more relaxing time of it for the next few days, without dragging ds1 to school, and only dragging 3&4 down to the park for football.

Made a lemon drizzle cake yesterday that has been demolished, need to go food shopping, but it can all wait for a day. Hayfever has kicked in, sore eyes, throat, nose, everything really. I am miserable. I have to double up on anti-histamine dosage by 4pm. There do not appear to be any side effects on the paper information label. Which is handy as I need more than it states anyway.

DH is going into work every day, or going in to the library to work every day. He is most miffed that all the buildings are closed Fri-Monday, or he would be in there then as well. I am not sure he understands how holidays are supposed to work.

Managed to go shopping for football boots without leaving the house - DS3 and 4 both decided the boots they were wearing on Friday after school did not fit well on Monday morning, so I went to my boxes of stuff from older brothers, and found both the next size up, without having to spend any more money. Everyone happy, and I have the next 2 sizes ready for DS4. Will keep an eye open in the c/s for size 5s in good time for DS3.

DS3 is having a Hobbit marathon - The Hobbit + LOTR, but he does not start them until after football, so 3.30 starts with a break for supper, and then they finish just before his bedtime.

Need to do something fun over the bank holiday, so I am thinking maybe a trip to see Captain Marvel? I still have not been to Bradgate Park. Hmm. will have to make a plan.

My memories of Bradgate Park - apart from it being the only decent hill around - are playing mouse-cat-dog with my sister and 3 or 4 year old niece. She was tired of walking so we took turns at being the various animals being chased by the predators -and had to make the relevant squeaking/meowing/woofing noises too. Niece was often hidden by the long grass so many a weird look was cast at sis and I as grown-ups running around making animal noises...

Ooh, How to Train your Dragon - the lost/forbidden /misplaced world is on at 0deon kids from tomorrow as well. So will plan a cheap one to that as well.

Child Tax has been paid early (much needed after new trainers for DS4) so I will food shop today for the long weekend. It looks like it is going to be hot, so will stock up on ice poles and lollies. Plus normal food. I will not just feed them ice. They would protest.:rotfl:

Easter Monday already.

Spent quarter of an hour feeling queasy at 9 last night, quarter of an hour throwing up, then was completely fine

again. Very odd. Did give me time to clean the bathroom well though.

Nobody wants to go out or do anything, I think I am going a little bit stir crazy - it is very good for the purse, all this not going out, but I am so bored of being at home. I keep looking at bistro sets, then I found one for half the price in the second hand place up the road - I will go and see about on Friday as a reward to myself, if it is still there. Looking on g0mtree and fleabay too. I would like to be able to sit outside with a cup of tea.
I have just found ds2 and 3s football kits screwed into a ball under one of the beds upstairs, so they are in the wash, and will be ready for tomorrow. DS4 had totally stripped his bed (for no clear reason) and thrown it all around his room, and all the lego is in plastic boxes on the landing as they could not agree whose room it should be in, so they compromised by putting it on the landing.
They do my head in.

Tomorrow I will clean around and hoover the whole house from top to bottom as DH will be out of the house and back at work. He is off camping again next weekend so will probably run away on Thursday. Football camp starts again, so a little bit of structure will return to the holidays. Still have not made it to the cinema.

Last week I planted some seeds - I now have sunflowers, livingstone daisies, cornflowers, tomatoes, courgettes and foxgloves. I rescued a buddleia from a crack in a wall, and that is doing well in a pot, and I have also managed to not kill a lavender I bought ys last year and neglected wildly. Not a flower on the bloody thing mind. Looks quite healthy though, leaf-wise.... in that it is not dead.

I have a request for a £30 school trip, £180 of after school clubs for DS3 & 4, £160 for passports and £67 on the cc, and it is all going to come out of next month's money. Which is quite scary, but ultimately do-able. It will just be a bit tight. Why does it always have to be do-able but a bit tight? every other month is a bit tight!


Those football kits will probably be ready for the line about now, so I will go and get them dried ready for tomorrow.

Forgot to say I got an email to tell me I am back on the postal survey thing for another 6 months, so I will be keeping the pensioners of Northern Ireland in free stamps until Xmas.
