And nobody noticed I took all the wood, and mdf, and the 6 foot length of the back of the sofa, from the hall and took it to the tip. I just got blank stares.
Supper worked really well and it was lovely and horrifically cheap. YS coconut milk at 20p a tin helped, and about 20p worth of red lentils. It fed 4 of us. I will definitely make it again. It could quickly become a family favourite.
No sign of twit workmen next door today. All the windows have been left open again. They are just daring people to break in, it seems.
Off to bath the kids and make sure everything is ready for football after school tomorrow.
I think I will start on some sewing projects at the weekend, and plant some seeds.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done on the tip run. Pity no one else appreciates it, but at least you're improving your own environment!
Why puffins???0 -
Always find tip runs therapeutic (reminds me I need to do one, I'm not going to get rid of our old toilet seat even for free I don't think!) I'm sure it is appreciated in their only'manly' ways.
Puffins sounds more relaxing than mine the other night which involved standing up to Colombian drug cartels who were terrorising the town...err...not your old neighbours I hope!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

You have decidedly dodgy neighbours. I am glad that I don't live next to them!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

So funny at the tip, I pulled up next to 3 men in cars, and before I had even opened my door, the man working at the tip was trying to open my boot, to help empty my car of all the wood. The men were chuntering, and when he wandered off after having helped, I said to the customer men - Is he not staying around to help you?- they laughed and said No, he only moves for a lady!
Mindyou, it is probably why I don't mind doing it and DH hates going.
Tomorrow my plan is to drop the kids at school, and go on a pootle around all the charity shops. I have not been in about 3 weeks, I need a day off. I have to get out of the house for some reason other than kid related meetings. I think I might be going a little stir-crazy. Hence the puffin dream. I have never seen a puffin and would really like to. I have been going on about this for about 2 years now and I really should rectify the situation.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I think the builders / electricians (?) must object to the smell inside the house, even after 2 years of it being empty. They have gutted it, the backyard is full of carpet, the kitchen has been stripped out, the house must just about be only a shell now. Judging from the amount piled up outside. It has been blissfully quiet while empty, but still, you don't want to be next to an empty house. Hopefully they will tart it up a bit and sell it on and go be criminals someplace else. Mind you, I might object if we get noisy neighbours! I can totally see the appeal of a detached house. Maybe the next one will be. :rotfl:We looked at a house a mile up the road from here when we were still house searching - cannabis house, we looked at another one in Loughborough - cannabis house, so we know how long the smell can last and what damage can be done to the internal structure, then we move into a house and within a year, next door is a cannabis house. It seems big old 5 bed houses are the preferred 'greenhouse' for cannabis growing pondscum. Terrible for the landlord though, but as I think next-door landlord was in on it, serves him jolly well right. If it goes onsale, it will be snapped up by a developer ridiculously fast. It just needs someone to sort it out quickly.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

most of the pufflings (whatevs) were quite grown so even earlier would be even better - although I understand your challenges with that timing. not sure if the may half term is too earlyI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

No sign of dodgy builders today either......
I went on my trawl of 10 charity shops today, took 3 hours, spent £3.50 - I am rubbish at spending money - was unsure about 2 dresses so left them behind. It is not summer dress weather anyway.
Just need to pull up my big girl pants and stop feeling underappreciated. The kids will never notice anything unless they bump their heads on it or fall over it. DH is just beginning his nightmare marking assignments phase, so unless I pour golden syrup on his keyboard, he won't notice anything either. The house is my priority not theirs. It will all come together in the end.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
