Requested another £6,09 from p/academic as cashout. It is over one days interest on the mortgage. Will send it over when it clears. Every little helps.

Shhh! Sitting here with DH being dead grumpy as he has had face surgery to build a foundation for his tooth implant, and has just realised, while trying to pay his road tax, he has forgotten to MOT his car at Easter(I think it is usually around Easter).
So he is now, a)annnoyed, b)in pain, and c) grumpy as all hell.
I drove that car to Ireland and back at Easter, and again over Summer!
Anyway, shhhhh! he is sorting it all out tomorrow. luckily apart from the Ireland trips, it is hardly driven at all. And it will not be driven again until it is going to its MOT. Blimmin' idiot!!!!! unless it is an admin error (unlikely!), it will all be sorted tomorrow. crap!! The man can be trusted with nothing.
Academics!!! Honestly!!
I am actually pretty horrified by this... but I have a feeling that he did the same thing a couple of years ago. It is an on the spot £100 fine if you drive without one, and your insurance is invalid if you have an accident. Mine is due in 4 weeks. See, I know when mine is!
Nothing has been done on the DIY front. Just spent the weekend looking after DH, and doing laundry.
DS3 managed to drop a mug of hot milk all down his chest, so after lots of cold water, and 24 hrs later, most of the redness has gone, all hot drinks have been banned from being near the computers and xbox. I am sure he was not concentrating, and walked into the back room watching the screen. Anyway, most of the redness has gone, nothing blistered at all, but I am still mortified and feeling immense guilt. It was an accident, but still, mum-guilt aplenty. When I think of his soft little skin being sore .....
So not the best weekend.
I have a list made for tomorrow, DH has the day off, but I can't babysit him anymore now he can eat . I am still waiting for my S&M vouchers. CC is still in credit. All things are still in budget.
Tried to get the kids to write a Xmas list. So far only one of them has.
Another Sunday night comes round, with no homework having been done, it will all be done tomorrow night. Things are starting to slip.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Ooooh that hot milk sounds painful but at least it’s not blistered/burnt him. Hopefully as it was sore for a day or so, it hasn’t caused him any harm but he’ll always remember to be as careful as possible with hot drinks (but accidents do happen). Bless you with your ‘mum guilt’ though!
 re the MOT! I would be annoyed too about that!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!1 -
Car had its MOT this morning, sailed through it. No problems, now taxed.
Spent some vouchers, bought 2 x dressing gowns for DS3 & 4,they got home and immediately got into them. £29 - £6 off code - £13.50 vouchers - so £8.50 in real money
2 x throws for the ends of sofas - £10 in vouchers - free!
3 pots of S&M hummus - £3 vouchers used - cost to me in cash 60p
Double bedsheet and 2 pillowcases - £8.50 in vouchers - free!
Had to spend £16.50 on 3 pairs of trousers for DS2. I have orchestrated laundry accidents, but did not realise he only had one pair of long trousers left. Disaster averted, and they were all reduced too! £5 £6 and £5.50. and not one of them is sludge green or banana yellow!!!
Also bought 12 boxes of passata as they were reduced to 11p each and one tin of 11p kidney beans.
So menu plans rejigged, tomorrow will be hummus and pittas and coleslaw and salady bits/ pickles. Thursday will be chilli. Friday will be stuffing, roasted veg, yorkies and gravy.
That way I need to buy nothing at all.
Might make scones tomorrow, as DH is out on a jolly with work, well, as much of a jolly as a meal out with a sore face can be, on antibiotics.
Still have not had a mice pie yet! Holiding out til December - keeping the faith!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

only just found your thread (not bad after 2.5 years) and really enjoyed the read - but did skip those difficult middle pages
glad things seem to be going OK. I just remortgaged for 8 years with a 7 year fix - I hope to overpay so that by the time the fix ends I am paid off. about the same amount as you - a bit more but not much
we have 4 kids as well GBGB but they are all 18+ its great although some disapprove / are in complete awe - the 2 girls are in Brighton today where DD2 is at Uni and sent us a selfie from the place where I proposed to my OH.
We haven't moved for 20 years so all the ratty bits are our own problem - not adding value like you - we are more subtracting it - but we do OK
anyway good luck and *subscribe*I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long

Hello Mark88man
Nice of you to comment and welcome aboard.
Post 18s sound lovely, and it is nice to hear you got through it with a house still standing. I swear mine are a 4 man demolition crew.
Just TT'd some untidy loose change from bank accounts. It all counts, I am scrabbling around for pennies to pay down the mortgage, while DH is paying out £3k on a tooth,
I have £10 left in the budget for the week in the bank, and about the same in my pocket, although DS3 owes me about £6 - again, the kids have more available folding money than I do,
Today involves the dentist for DS1, again. They are so awful together i have given up taking them all to fhe dentist as a group. This is the last time this year. Thank god as I do not like our dentist at all. Now DS1 and 4 have had their braces off, I am spared that - although all the orthodontist ladies were lovely.
Important jobs for today
Clean and hoover everything
make scones.

Every day one kid or another asks when the tree is going up.
The cloth advent calendars will have to go up next Friday ready for Saturday's pixies. Probably will spend next weekend decorating (pah!) so really I had better get back up my ladder and finish painting the coving.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I had wondered why you had so many optician and dentist visits. All is now clear! Very sensible of you.
Hope dh's tooth is worth it.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1 -
Hi there - yes 18+ is lovely - especially when they leave their rooms and spend family time (and also when they don't) - but younger children are a different sort of blessing.
The 2 girls are away - one living 50 miles away - the other at Uni.
The older boy is living at home except when he is touring although his GF is moving in with us in a month which is fab
The younger one will be with us for a while - and thats fine we're not going anywhere until retirement which is at least 5-10 yearsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
