Well it looks like I will be going to Wa1tr0se for my mice pies this year.

Their basics range is dairy free, seems to be the only one that is this year.

Aldi do not seem to be doing their dark chocolate lebkuchen hearts this year.
DS1 is very very sad. As sad as a 16 yr old can be who has been looking forward to them since last January.:(

I have one single pot of micemeat to make pies with - thanks m-i-l. :rotfl:

Did the lunchbox shop, came in under £20 (mostly sandwich fillers + hummus) and I have everything else I need for the rest of the week. Yay. :j

Just back from a 'Museum of the Moon' thing, it is a scale reproduction of the moon. 1cm =5km in a community centre of the Golden Mile - a big Indian commercial area, like the Curry Mile in Manchester. Space Museum people were there with their meteorites and a bit of the moon for people to touch, All for free. Massive moon in the middle of a room.

I HAVE TOUCHED THE MOON!!!!!!(well a small piece hacked off the moon)

Sadly they have milk in too! Even their Favorina pies, which have been vegan for years and years and years suddenly have milk in this year. Looks like Stollen or Waitrose.

The T3sco offering this year is a whole cauliflower with a spicy tomato sauce covered in puff pastry. They are calling it something daft like a vegan festive crown.
I just laugh every time I think of it. Here darling! have a huge slice of cauliflower in a tiny covering of chilli sauce. Surprise!!

DS3 has discovered the Great Model Railway Challenge programme and is utterly entranced. So he is catching up on the 3 episodes he has missed.

I've just seen a picture of the "Cauliflower Wellington" :rotfl:

This year we are going to trial the Bosh! mushroom wellington recipe before Christmas. Have heard lots of good things about it. Last year we made a huge vegan sausage roll - puff pastry stuffed with Macsween's haggis, shallots, spinach, spices and cranberries.

Good luck with your apple mountain. I am going to juice ours today and freeze the juice.

I am a bit worried about the co-op at the minute.

For years, even from when they had deii-france concessions in store that did their baking, their doughnuts were sfv, but suddenly they are off the vegan list.

They sell their puff pastry mince pies all year round (which is just odd but handy if you fancy one in July) but sometimes you just want a cr*p shortcrust pastry pie in a tin foil boat. Some things just take you back in time. Will have another look and see, but I am not paying £4.99 for a free free from pack of 4. Daylight robbery!

Today has been eaten by the laundry monster, and taking DS2 to get his new glasses. He has a lazy eye for the first time in his life, at 14!!
Please make sure your take your kids to get their eyes tested regularly .

DS3 is curled up on the sofa watching WarHorse. This may not end well.

Toad in't 'ole for supper. I have baked apples earlier, so that can be pud.

Back to the washing for me.

    Busy busy busy.

Got up at 6, started folding laundry and putting it into piles for everyone - Finished just before 7.
Got all kids to school in time (just) -DS1 did not get into the car until 8.15 but due to green lights the whole way managed to get them to school at 8.26 so they got out and ran. It is creeping later and later every week, and it is always DS1 who is the first one up and the last one out.

Found DS4s scarf and empty PE kit bag in the lost property bin that the school had left outside all weekend. Top 12" were soaking wet, DS4s stuff was quite a way down, thank goodness, so was still dry. I would not have seen them on Friday anyway as they do football after school and the gates to the classroom doors are locked.
Came home, stripped the top floor beds, all washed now and dried and in the airing cupboard ,

Moved the 3 living room sofas around (they are on their last legs)

Read the meters and submitted to energy company - currently £170 in profit

I have made a gorgeous aubergine, yellow pepper and coconut milk curry for tonight, 2 kids will refuse, so they can have pasties (grrrrrrr)

We are off to a fireworks display tonight at the local tennis club £4 adults £2 kids - it was a massive display last year. No bonfire though. DS1 will no doubt refuse.
Still, will be a fun filled bit of time with lots of ooohs and aahhs, no computer screens, being outside and in the fresh air for a bit, until the smoke starts dropping.....

Only one kid at after school club tonight, so will be back home for 4.45 and then remaking the beds, and a quick tea, before heading out again.
Hopefully DH will come, and maybe DS2,3 and 4.
Might do an apple crumble or sponge if there is time, might be nice after the fireworks to come home to something sweet and cinnamony, and then pop 3 & 4 into bed.
