I'd want them to put their final decision in writing along with details of the fault and an explanation of why they are not covering it. Then make an official complaint before seeking legal advise with a view of court. As unless there are other terms you've neglected to show us I'm struggling to see how they are refusing a warranty claim on a lifetime component

Actually if Lexus are claiming these batteries are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and as op has demonstrated the high voltage batteries is not an exclusion of the warranty then I fail to see how they can get out of paying for it!

    Maybe they're using this clause.

    (e) The repair or replacement of any Protected Part has not suffered a Mechanical or Electrical Failure.

That's the crux of my argument. They still refusing to pay.
Have you escalated to the warranty provider yet, as per section 9 of the warranty Ts and Cs?

So in what way hasn't there been a failure of an electrical component? Since an electrical component designed to last the life of the vehicle has failed

Guys, I have this all sorted. The dealer put it through again clarifying it is electrical failure and not wear & tear. They asked for service records and subsequently approved. Dealer said they were trying it on.

What do you think guys, I am worried if this Lexus warranty is worth paying for my vehicle? They might use that wear & tear excuse every time in an event of a claim.

Thank you guys for your support and advice, much appreciated.

How is it possible to prove every time that's not the case?

They could use that clause in everycase.

Last time they refuse to change the headlights adjuster saying it was wear and tear and not mechanical failure. Cost me £700 to fix

Just read through the post and found it interesting.Well done saul ten out of ten for perseverance, glad it appears to have worked out well for you.Just goes to show it's well worth the effort doing a bit of research/digging and not to give in at the first warranty claim refusal.

Well, there's a result! I'd wait until it's all fully resolved, but...

It's a 10yo, 113k mile vehicle. It's a warranty from an independent warranty provider, with some Lexus branding.

Take a chunk off the premium for the branding.
Take a chunk off the remaining premium for the marketing.
Take a chunk off the remaining premium for the claims handling.
Take a chunk off the remaining premium for the administration.
Take a chunk off the remaining premium for profit.
What's left is what's paid out in claims.

Didn't expect Lexus to play these games. I am not likely to buy another Lexus when I am due for a renewal.
