A quick look on the Lexus UK website shows a new RX would have a 5 yr or 60k Warranty.

And extended Warranty has a ten year limit.

Couldn't see a mention of being able to extend the warranty to 12 years.

There's no official statement of how long a hybrid battery should last but I have seen many cars well over 150k still runnin gone same battery.

If they wanted to exclude the battery they should state that on the terms & conditions that after a certain period hybrid battery not covered?

I have been told that Toyota Warranties are more generous than Lexus which seems strange since Lexus are the high end brand for Toyota.

Lexus have said battery needs replacing, alarms came on the car.

I am really surprised by this. You buy protection from reputable company but end up with a poor service.

At the time of taking out the warranty the car must be less then 10 years old and under 140k in mileage. My car is within those limits.

There's no exclusion to the ones you have stated above for the hybrid battery.

How long do you expect to be covered for? Batteries wear out, looks like you have a big bill coming.

Bill is £2400 to get it fixed. Paid £1000 for 2 years warranty.

Covered until my warranty runs out. There's no specific exclusions.

You're seriously saying there's no general wear and tear exclusion on this warranty? Sorry, but I don't believe you.

2.2 We will not pay for the cost of repairing or replacing any Protected Part that suffers a Mechanical or Electrical Failure as a result of wear and tear

For hybrid vehicles, 5-year or 60,000 mile cover for both the hybrid components and the hybrid battery.

I just found this article on Lexus's blog. !Please look down where it says: How long do they last. !

It says: !

The battery is designed to last the life of the vehicle. In any case, your battery is warranted for five years. The batteries are much larger than regular car batteries as they need to generate and deliver sufficient voltage to power the car at low-speeds without any support from the petrol engine. Their production does have a small, additional impact on the environment, but this is more than compensated for by the environmental benefits of driving a hybrid car.

Procedures are also in place so that each battery can be recycled, arranged through Lexus dealerships.



Is this proof and do I have case now?
