i was proud to be a mad moneysaving maverick, but "geek" and "nerd" i find deeply insulting. dont like it at all. will have to try and beat Q at her own game and post zillions of posts a day to get to inhabitant status before i start to become affected by the name i am given at the moment."It is not uncommon for slight acquaintances to get married, but a couple really have to know each other to get divorced." - Anonymous0 -
well I think everyone should stop using the word little in sentences coz I'm vertically challenged

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -

And though I'm loathe to say it....This one does appear to have serious "issues regarding it's mental heath status"0

I think the post in question was said from the heart and should be taken in the way it was intended - as a true representation of one person's feelings. Whether the team decided to act on it or not was down to them and respect to them for choosing to do so.
Both my husband and I suffered quite frightening mental health problems last year. It didn't occur to me to feel upset by the titles but I can understand why someone wouldn't want to associate themselves with a word that has been used to hurt them in the past. There will of course also be people who have been teased at school for being bright or wearing glasses and who will have negative feelings about the words nerd or geek.
Personally, I liked the old descriptions and I like the new ones too. And I revel in all things geeky so bring it on!
I think the main problem the team will have now will be from people who want to be 'outraged' at the change for the sake of it. I don't envy them.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
