Being to picky for 5p?

Today I was emailed by someone who has brought a cd from me off ebay, they contacted me to say that they've sent me a postal order but got the amount wrong so it's 5p short of the final price.
This has really annoyed me, especially as to get them to send the postal order I had to start a 'non-payment' disrupt and wait almost a week for them to responded to that (I'd sent loads of messages asking for them to contact me as I still hadn't received payment, including a message giving them a week to respond or I was starting a disrupt)
I haven't replied yet, should I being asking for the 5p or am I just being far to pickie?

  • Return the payment and cancel the sale. Insist on PayPal for future payments.

I think its one of those really annoying little things that you may just have to let go!

  • TK, Ebay's wonderful when it works, but when it doesn't work it stinks.
I would say it depends on the price you got for the sale. if it was a low price, I would refuse to send until payment is made in full, but if you did get a good price, I would just put it down to experience.

  • tricky! Suspect they are taking the mick so in principle would insist on the full amount in principle....depends whether yo can let it go as it's effctively your 5p isnt it! At the end of the day you agreed a price & they havent paid it so you're entitled to the full amount but then if you have to relist you'll have to pay another fee so guess it's swings & roundabouts! Let us know what you decide!!

  • I think it's something you need to let pass

    but

I'd be tempted to say something like 'that's okay, when you've sent the outstanding amount I'll send the item out'...

You're being too picky IMO. 5p's nothing.

are we really just talking about 5p and people are seriously suggesting negative feedback? i know they were slow to pay but hey life really is too short. the most i'd consider was blocking them in the future.
