Yes, that was me. I also have hoarding tendencies (not quite as bad as the one of our number who had accumulated over 400 toilet rolls which were insulating her loft, but just as bad, in my own small way).
I freely admit to also suffering from a bit of brand snobbery so I use my month 13 to buy the Turkey and Christmas extras and to stock up on my fave brands when they are on offer.
I have not bought full price laundry gloop, shower gel, baked beans or chopped tomatoes for about 4 years - I have occasionally bought soap (proper old-fashioned Pears clear soap) at 68p but I try to get my store cupboard items on offer and in bulk. Works for me!
SLSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

My boy is the opposite of fussy and has been surprised by my not asking him what he'd like on the meal plan. Usually I know he'll ask for fish and for pasta and nanny sauce and sometimes something else.
Thank you Fran, that's a good thought. Much better than trying to guess what new things everyone might like.Target £80 per week groceries, household and cleaning for four adults.0 -
A £13.98 spend at MrT, I needed to use a couple of clubcard vouchers to get points, I also had some money off vouchers but decided to pay cash instead and maximise the vouchers with the X4 offers when I have enough for a nice treat, cinema for 2 etc.
I bought a large bag of chick peas, almonds that I need to make milk, a bag of double YSd black kale, 18p, it would have been rude not to! Then I passed in front of a freezer cabinet and saw soya ice cream in vanilla and chocolate flavours, my favourite, and now that I am dairy free (mostly) it would be lovely to try. One tub £3.50 but the offer was buy 3 for a fiver. No brainer! A bit of an impulse buy but, as DH remarked, as long as we dint gorge it all at once, it's a nice treat and will go very well on crumbles, with all the apples we got!
Meals today: breakfast was mushroom omelette. Lunch miso soup with chick peas, carrots and seaweed, then mixed salad with avocado, and hummus with oatcakes. A bit of ice cream fir afternoon snack, so yummy! Then dinner was leftover veg stew with cooked lentils and the bag of YS black kale. Pudding was dried figs and almonds.
Got 2 salmon fillets out of the freezer for tomorrow.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Wow that's a great bargain, where do you get the soup coupons? I live on soups, would be great not to have to cook for 7 meals! :rotfl:Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Hi Caterina - which ice cream is this please? I was thinking Swedish Glace but I don't think it's that much per tub... and I'm pretty sure Perfect World isn't soy based (nor is it vegan, poo!) - is it the Alpr0 one?!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
